It is more than likely a power supply board price may less if it can be repaired a little more if the complete board is replaced. it de pends what state you are in and the servicer .

go to www.shopjimmy.com. The power cord you probably need is a 3 prong right angle cord. Check the back of the TV to confirm the pattern of the cord.

check for two leaky capacitors in the power supply section. Should be two 10uf 250V caps with bulging tops. If you see this, that's your problem.

check and see if any capacitors are domed over.

It probably blew a fuse unplug it. It might catch fire

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors. That crackling sound is the capacitors burning out.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

If using cable with no cable box go into the Closed Caption settings on the TV and turn the TEXT mode off.

check the invertor boards resistors they power the back lights
also check for any capactors that have blown (raised tops) they look little bateries
