What source are you using? Cable Box? Cable tuner? DVD? Computer?

Most of the time your TV's remote will have a button that says "Aspect" or "View Mode" or "Zoom" they can stretch zoom and distort the screen and cause this.

If it is a DVD or Set Top Box you may have to go into the menu or set-up screen and change the aspect ratio to that of your TV.

Let me know if that helps, any more details would be great.

Thanks!

The worst offender is capacitor EC 13 (this is the location). It is located inside a heat sink shield (iron cage). The value is 25 volts at 330mf. Once the cage is removed replace these capacitors as well. EC14 & EC6, 35 volts at 100mf. EC10 &EC12, 35 volts at 470mf. EC8,EC7,EC9,at 16 volts at 1000mf. EC11,EC12 at 25 volts at 220mf. Please also resolder connection CON3. This connection will allow a good ground to the main board (also known as the signal board. Also you will have to replace diode HER304 (this is the location). This diode is mounted on a heat sink. Replace it with a NTE 576. f you cannot do this find an electronic hobbiest or a TV Shop. Take this info with you. Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV Repair.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It is not 1 bulb but a series of long cold cathode bulbs with mercury vapor inside. If any one fails, they all go out. If the inverter fails, they all go out. Don't open the panel. Lamps can be tested in the panel by someone who knows how. Very high voltages also. Safer to take it to a shop.

I had the same issue with this TV in my hotel room. I set the FLX3211B TV up as an extension of my laptop, but had to change the refresh rate from the default 58p Hz to 60p Hz for the digital TV display. Once I did this, it came right up.

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis.
