SOURCE: One piece toilet needs a new gasket. How do I replace it?

The top of the pipe above the flush valve is threaded. Unscrew it, and you will be able to remove the flush valve and replace the gasket.

SOURCE: My K3489 toilet leaks down

Hello, W/D here.

With the water off, drain the tank (lift the flapper). Look inside where the flapper seats. If the (usually black) gasket is rippled, this may be the cause of your trouble. You can remove the rippled portion of the gasket with a razor knife, just be very careful not to damage the flapper seat. Removing the protruding material will allow the flapper to fully seat without damaging the gasket integrity.
Best regards,

the white smoke is coolant burning, a cracked head or head gasket would cause this.

There are only a coulple of places that the toilet could leak or, overflow and give you this problem. When you replaced the flapper valve, did it have an extra piece of rugger on it? Universal flappers have a round piece on them that are designed to fit over the overflow tube. If you flapper had this piece and you don't have need for it, you need to cut that out, if the flapper "hooks" to the overflow assembly. Leaving that piec on can contort the shape of the flapper and make it so it won't seal. If you are noticing constant movement(slight swirl) in the bowl, make sure the back tank is not constantly overflowing into overflow tube. If this is the case, your water level is too high. You will either need to adjust the water level and/or replace the fill valve. If you can hear the toilet running or leaking, push down on the flapper, if it stops, you have a problem with the flapper and/or the chain adjustment. When you install the flapper, you have ton make sure the chain is long enough to let the flapper fall and seal but, not so long that it can tangle or get between the the flapper and it's seal below it.

Hi, I have a 96 Honda Civic. I have been having issues for the past 2 months now with the coolant getting so hot it keeps boiling out of my overflow container. I have to fill the radiator every time I...

I'm NOT a mechanic.. But.. Check this by starting engine with radiator cap removed, and look for flow.
Do you see a lot of bubbles? Esp when engine is still cool.. And bubbles are full of vapor? My guess is head gasket leak.. Blowing exhaust into the coolant. Gas in coolant preventing proper flow, and overheating the coolant, and simultaneously over pressurizing cooling system, causing blow out.

Are you seeing any steamy exhaust. ? Try pulling plugs and looking for extra clean one.
Good luck..

Is there a specific tool to remove the group head cap? Need to replace gaskets underneath and can't get the caps to budge. I assume from exploded drawings that they unscrew and that the three holes should...

It is not necessary to remove anything except the old gasket. I know it looks like the old gasket is under the screen but it isn't. I just replace both of mine. This is easier if you turn the machine upside down on a solid surface. Take a small flat blade screwdriver or punch. Very carefully locate the old gasket just outside the screen that is built into the machine. It will be hard as a rock, not like the new gasket. If you carefully peck a small hole in the old gasket, you can start popping small pieces of the old gasket out. At some point larger pieces will pop out. Finally after all the old gasket is out, carefully scrape the remnants of the old gaskets out of the groove. Slide the new gasket in place and you are ready to go. Once the old gasket starts cracking, it will break out like glass.

Need to replace valve cover gaskets on 1992 camry and howmany are they

Buy the valve cover gasket in one of local auto part stores.
Don't start the car, put it on parking breaks. If you drove before wait when engine cools down. After then you will need a 10 mm wrench (it can have different size). Loose all nuts on the valve cover. After that remove the cover carefully. It's possible that you will have to disconnect and loose more stuff from the valve cover. When you open the cover you will see 4 gaskets for each spark plug place remove them also. Now you will need something to clean surface where the gaskets go. It can be special spray to degrease surface or it can be regular gas. Don't spill any liquid on the engine it can be harmful. You can use also sandpaper of minimum roughness to clean the surfaces. After that put the spark plug gaskets on it's places. If they don't stay there you have to buy special sort of glue (usually it's not a case). Then put the valve cover gasket on it's place, there are special grooves. Install the valve cover gasket extremely careful the valve cover gasket is very fragile. After you putted everything on its places start to tighten. You should do that in certain order. Start from one of the edges then middle opposite side and then the side from which you started but another edge (the same for another side). Don't tighten it comletely for one time, make couple "rounds" before you finish. After you check and connect everything remove all your stuff from the engine compartment and start the engine. Don't close the hood you need see that there is no leakage.

Carbuator leaks gas on motorcycle

Two possibilities; the float bowl gasket is leaking, or the carburetor is overflowing (gasoline is coming out of the overflow tube).
If coming from the float bowl gasket, simply remove the float bowl and replace the gasket.
If it is overflowing remove the float bowl, pull out the float hinge pin, remove float and float valve. Clean the valve and inspect the valve for excess wear (a noticeable groove worn into the tapered seat) and replace if needed. While you have the float out, shake it and listen for any gasoline that may have leaked inside it. If there's liquid inside the float, toss it and buy a new one (or else your carb will overflow with gasoline constantly). Before you put the float bowl back on be sure to clean it out with soapy water and an old tooth brush.
That should take care of any leaks or overflowing.

Kitchen taps drip and leak.I do not want to replace with new but would like to sort these problems.

dependent on the type of faucet, you need to replace (a) the washers, (b.) the spring and seals or (c.) the gasket. They all serve the same purpose. 1. turn off the water supply to the faucet. 2. double handle? (a)remove the center cap (b) then remove the screw holding the handle down (c)next unscrew the valve stem retaining nut (normally it is the one right above the faucet body). (d) pull the valve stem out, if there is a small rubber piece held down by screw remove the screw, replace the washer. if there is a rubber gasket wrapped around the stem, remove and replace it, if nothing is on the stem look into the faucet body you should see 1 or 2 small rubber pieces these are the seals the springs are right below the seals. Remove and replace springs and seals. 3. single handle? remove the handle retaining screw, normally covered by hot/cold indicator symbol, unscrew valve stem retaining nut, pull the valve stem and replace either the gasket or springs and seals.
