How to turn on shower head of Delta monitor

I'm at my cousin's place and he has a delta monitor. Similar to what you guys are talking about.

To turn on the shower, I had to pull down on the faucet head, not the shower head.

To turn off the shower, I had to push the faucet head back up.

Hope this helps anybody out.

I have a delta 1400

I had the same problem. My building manager showed me that you have to yank the circular portion at the end the of spout where the water comes out downward and the water will be diverted to the showerhead.

I have a Delta push down bathtub drain stop, but

There are two types of tub drain stoppers for the delta brand - lift & turn and toe tap.

Lift and Turn:
The lift & turn stopper for the bathtub unscrews counterclockwise while in the full up position.

Toe Tap:
The toe tap stopper does also but if the cap may unscrew from it before the entire stopper comes out. In that case, there is a nut that is now exposed and can be accessed to unscrew the assembly.

If either of these is "spinning" without unscrewing, the threads are stripped and you would need to exert upward pressure while unscrewing in hopes of uncoupling this from the bath waste. If that doesn't work you would have to unscrew the bath waste flange from the drain pipe.
This will require access under the tub. I hope this answer the question for you. Thank you for using FIXYA. Jeff

Good afternoon, We have a 25yr old delta shower

You don't change the setting on the faucet or behind the shower wall. You change the mix in the hot water heater itself. New hot water heaters are set at a relatively lower hot-water-setting for liability purposes. To achieve a hotter mix, take the cover plate off the hot water heater. You will see a dial setting that allows you to turn up the heat. Depending on what type of water heater you have, there might be two cover plates (lower and upper). If so, you'll need to adjust both of these.

I have a Delta Monitor shower unit that lost half

I don't know what the static pressure you're working with but if this problem just stated then what you're asking may be true. The page link below has some diagrams of the parts and might help you disassemble the valve. Take your time and you can do this.

These videos will help also. The 1400 and 1300 are almost the same valve. and you may not have a plastic handle.

Delta pull-up bathtub drain problem

Hi Bigoz,

Drop the drain plug down about half way and try turning it counter clockwise. If you get no resistance after a full turn you will probably need to cut or break it out. If the pin is missing I'm guessing this is what you'll have to do. This answer assumes you have a lift and turn style drain.

Please ratre this response and Good Luck, Phil

I have a barely used delta monitor 1300/1400

Hi,
Take the handle off and then there is a flat plastic washer... take that off... behind that there is a plastic stop that is very difficult to move, but with some work you can turn that and then push it back in to give you hotter water...

Delta 13022 - Hot water

The Delta shower has a rotational limit stop designed so that when another fixture is activated, such as a toilet or dishwaser, the water does not go to extreme hot or cold. The reason for this is that the Delta shower unit is not pressure balanced or does not contain an anti scald device. The pdf document below will show how to adjust the water tempature if you feel it is too cold. Please use caution as it is probably set the way it is to prevent scalding.
