SOURCE: stitch problems

You can adjust the pressure foot(not footpedal)which puts the prsure on the foot by the needle. Also try altering the stitch length. If the stitches are skipping on silky fabric or knitted fabrics try using tissue and sewing onto that directly then tearing it off afterwards.

SOURCE: I have a Janome 1600P QC drags on a Little Gracie 2 frame

Sorry for your headache. It is the frame. If it is not level, balanced, you have hell to pay. Also it there is a nick in the grooves of the carriage tracks this will cause a machine problem. You may be able to repair the frame, or level it about the old level the table trick, put something under that part.

Good luck

SOURCE: how do you set the tension on a janome 6260 sewing

Refer to the manual.

You turn the tension knob - the higher the number the tighter the stitch.

First, thread the machine with the presser foot up. This opens the tension control for the thread to properly enter.

Then, when you lower the presser foot, the tension control closes to the setting you have selected.

Testimonial: "The fact that some one seems to think this model has a tension knob is slightly worrying but the information in the comment was helpful."

SOURCE: My Janome Harmony 1017 won't

when the fabric does not move then the feed dogs under the needle plate need to be checked to see if there up or down.
if the feed dogs are down then the lever or switch needs to be pushed up into the correct position
if the feed dogs are up & they are not moving the fabric like there suppose to, cause it's there job to move the fabric against the presser foot,, then they need to be check

the gears that do the zig zag stitches should be checked to make sure there not worn & weather they might need be be greased

Can feed dogs on janome 1600 series be dropped

No the feed dogs aren't dropped on the Janome 1600 series sewing machines. Instead, you cover them with the darning plate. I haven't found the darning plate sold separately. https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/jan-767-827-009.php is a source for the darning foot and darning plate. As far as I can tell, the darning plate is not among the original accessories for any of the Janome 1600 models. The manuals for two of the Janome 1600 models are on the retired machine page: https://www.janome.com/support/retired-machine-manuals/ . The manual for the Janome 1600P-QC is on that machine page: https://www.janome.com/machines/sewing/1600p-qc/ . The direct link to this manual is https://www.janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/professional-series/inst-book-1600pqc.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Janome Memory Craft 8200QC Horizon. Can you get a stitch regulator? How does it work? Does it help to free motion stitch ?

You should check with a Janome dealer if your machine can use a stitch regulator. Machines that take a stitch regulator need the ability to plug into the machine, which is not available on a lot of machines unless they have the stitch regulator function. A stitch regulator helps some people. It still takes a lot of practice moving the fabric smoothly.

On my BSR, it has an "eye" that measures the distance the fabric moves under the presser foot so it can stitch at the specified distance. The faster the fabric moves, the faster it stitches, but the stitches tend to more uniform in length.

FWIW, I read a summary of the Janome 8200 QC Horizon and there was no mention of a stitch regulator.

I have a a Janome 6260. The thread eVentually splits in half, then breaks. This problem is worse when I use decorative stitching

I'm going to guess on this one; if your stitches are even (no bunching or pulling), you might have a build up of thread somewhere in the machine. Take out the bobbin and, if possible, the bobbin casing and check for any tangled or loose threads. Second guess, check the feeder on top of the machine, thread may be working its way into and catching on that feeder... be very careful when threading through the feeder because thread will often catch. If neither of these 'fixes' work, might be time to take the machine in for a cleaning and tuneup.

How do I change the position of the needle (right/left) on my Janie 6019 QC sewing machine?

You may only be able to adjust this one or two spaces. When you have the straight stitch selected, try moving you stitch width slide wider. If you needle is in the correct position, you should see it move as you slide the lever.
