Hello

Reboot your system . Press F11 when started . Generally F11 is for recovery to the factory settings . If there is any other option for recovery , select it . Your system will be booted to the factory image if tha is already stored on your system.

Need too restore to factory

The HP Mini laptop comes with either the Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating system.
You can restore the HP Mini to its factory settings using the laptop's recovery partition.
Restoring the HP Mini to its original factory settings will get rid of hard to eliminate viruses on the laptop's hard drive.
A factory restoration is also a good way to get rid of older files still stored on the computer that you no longer need and start with a clean slate.

Windows Vista
Click "Start" in the lower-left corner of your HP Mini Windows Vista home screen, then type "Recovery" into the Search box at the bottom of the Start menu. Click "Recovery Manager" in the list of options that appears above the Search box. The HP Recovery Manager will open. Click "Advanced Options" and then "System Recovery." Click "Next." Your HP Mini will restart. The HP Recovery Manager will open up automatically after the restart is complete. Click "System Recovery," and then click "Next." Click "No" if a message pops up on your screen asking if you want to use Microsoft System Restore. Select "Recover without backing up your files," and then click "Next." The restoration process begins. This could take between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the of your hard drive and how much information you have stored on it. The HP Mini will restart when the laptop has been restored to its original factory settings, and you will be prompted to set up Windows Vista. Windows 7
Click the "Start" icon in the lower-left corner of your HP Mini Windows 7 home screen. Click "All Programs" and then click "Recovery Manager." Click "Recovery Manager" again to open the HP Recovery Manager program. Click "System Recovery" from the list of options beneath the "I need help immediately" section on the left side of the program. The HP Mini will automatically restart and open the HP Recovery Manager. Click "System Restore," and then click "Next." Click "No" if a message pops up on your screen asking if you want to use Microsoft System Restore. Select "Recover without backing up your files," and then click "Next." The restoration process could take between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the of your hard drive and how much information you have stored on it. The HP Mini will restart when the laptop has been restored to its original factory settings, and you will be prompted to set up Windows Vista.

I was wondering how to reboot it to factory settings (how i first bought it) everytime i try, it comes up with system restore and only restores when i last backed it up.

In order to restore your system back to totally factory settings you have to have the CD that came with your computer. Then you will have to make sure that you are booting from the DVD or CD-ROM as the first boot and the second is HD. Not sure as to what F button you need to actuate during the boot up to get to BIOS it may be F2 or F12 anyway when you get to the BIOS select boot and choose CD or DVD-ROM as the first boot then either F10 and exit or exit. Follow on screen instructions in the BIOS.

Now place your recovery CD or DVD in the drive and restart the laptop. Select restore complete system when the option from the CD restore disc comes up. It will format and restore your original system files. You do have to have the original restore disc for your model and serial for your lap top since you did not mention what brand your laptop is just go to the support or downloads or on their site for your computer to be able to purchase one. That is the only way you can restore it back to its original state when you purchased it. Thanks for using FixYa! John

Restore factory settings

On some computers, the disk-drive is "partitioned" into two parts -- your 'C:' drive and a 8GB "recovery" partition. If so, then when you start-up your computer, there is an option to boot from that Recovery Partition, and to reinstall Windows.

On some computers, there is software that lets you burn your own CD/DVDs that can then be used to reinstall Windows. Have 4 or 5 "blank" DVD disks, or 8 to 10 "blank" CD disks, before you run this software.

If you have "lost" the original disks, contact LG. For a small fee, they will ship you a replacement "System Recovery" CD/DVD set of disks.

Hi i have a ibook g3 { i just bought it from a friend} i can i restore to a factory settings without a trouble

To restore an iBook G3 to factory settings you need the installation CDs that came with the iBook. Ask your friend to find them. Sometimes you can purchase replacement sets on eBay, but they have to be for your exact model. Please realize that the original installation CDs that came with this iBook will contain OS 9, not OS X, so I question whether you really want to restore this machine "to factory settings." What you may choose to do instead is a "clean install" from a more recent retail OS X CD or DVD.

Contact Dell technical support to get the CD read the partition on your hard drive to restore to factory settings. It won't be able to work without one since it has to boot from the CD in order to get it to work.
