You cannot clean the insides. The are sealed if you attempt to remove them, which is a big job in itself, you run the risk of damaging the seal and allowing water and moisture to get inside which could lead to more problems. What I would recommend is to visit your local parts store, and pick up a bottle of Maguire's cleaner wax. Apply some of the wax directly on the headlamps and with a terry cloth or a microfiber cloth rub the wax in real good with a little bit of pressure. Allow the wax to cure and then polish it off with a dry part of the towel. Generally these headlamps oxidize and causes this foggy or cloudy appearance.

I have a 2000 olds intrigue. The headlight lens are in bad shape. Tries cleaning them, did not work.foggy outside, shatter looking cracks inside. Can this be Fixed?

You can sand and re-polish with a headlight restoration kit. Just make sure it comes with a bottle of UV coating. But the cracks can't be removed. Buy aftermarket headlights and replace. They're $55 each at rockauto.com.

Remove headlight cover

The headlight cover is not really a cover...it is the assembly which needs to be removed completely from the car to access the bulb hole that is the only access to the interior surfaces of the assembly. Lots of screws and awkward positions to get it out. Best bet, leave it alone or pull the bulb socket and use very long q-tips to clean out moisture!

One of my headlight is foggy and dirty on the inside is there a way to take the headlights out and clean them?

Nope...they are a sealed beam type and if it is foggy or has dew in it the seal is bad. You could remove the headlight assembly and wash it out but you will have it happen again.

Foggy headlight assembley

If the fog is on the outside, it is damage from dirt and rocks from the road. You can try sanding and buffing them (they sell kits for this purpose), but it's not that easy.
If the fog is on the inside, it may be that moisture has gotten into the assembly through a crack or loose seam. Remove the protective backing from the assembly and let the water evaporate. Find the crack or loose seam and seal it with clear caulk of some kind.
The only other choice is to replace the assembly.
Best wishes!

Foggy headlight lens replace driver door mirror

Foggy headlight lens is from water ingress and gets trapped in there, the easiest way for you is to unscrew the back of the headlight assembly and get a hair drier and just dry out the head light, it may come back after a few rains,, other wise undo the screw holding the headlight unit, disconect wires and remove unit, I have the submerged unit into water watching where air bubbles come from then apply a small bead of water proof flexible sealand or silastic around the edge where the cover and lense meet, Dont try to take the lense off you will break something. Dry out completly and use hair dryer agin on low setting to make sure all moisture is gone and reassemble back onto vehicle....

1999 taurus has foggy headlights.

Most Auto Stores sell a headlight solution that cleans the fogginess of your headlight. Assuming your headlight looks dirty and cloudy as would a pool, a simple solution is to pick up the cleaner at any auto place. That is a lot cheaper than buying a new headlight.

How to remove headlight lens on a 1999 ford taurus. They have become foggy and I heard some where you can clean the inside.

The lens isn`t removable, you can buy a kit from the auto parts store to polish them from the outside without even taking them off, works very well.Good luck

1999 pontiac grand am headlight glass is foggy-how do I clean it?

You can use a product called goof off or a bug abd tar remover to get the area clean. To change your light bulb you can open your hood and between the radiator and the front end assembly see the back of the light socket. Turn it to the right and it should release. Make sure when you replace the new bulb not to touch the bulb in anyway with grease from your hand or dirt this will case the halogen bulb to burn out. So once you have replaced this just repeat the steps to reinstall.
