Probably set to USB or external as first boot device change in Bios

Testimonial: "How can I get in to change it? I know the path however I cannot enter the password if my keyboard and usb ports are not working. I have been all over cyberspace asking this and nobody has given me a solution. Is it that complicated or possible? I am computer savvy and never had to go so far to get a solution for anything."

Insert the Recovery disc and boot of your laptop and Repair your computer

how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased
or if using XP

Restart your computer during the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer Advanced Boot Options screen appears.

Select the Safe Mode option using the up and down arrow keys, then press the ENTER key. Choose "Windows XP Home/Professional", depending on the version of the operating system.

Press ENTER. Shortly, the welcome screen should show.
Log in as "Administrator". Click Yes to not use System Restore Mode.


Click the Start button. Choose Run and type in "control user passwords" (without the quotes). Click OK.


Select the "Administrator" user. Click Change my password. Enter a new password in the corresponding text boxes. Click OK. Write this password down and store it in a secure place
Close the User Accounts window and restart Windows.

If the bios don't have password just press F2 when booting, if have password need to open the machine and remove the CMOS battery (the battery is like a coin) for about 10 sec.

try to boot and when it asks to set the time and date ..press F1 to go to the BIOS settings and in there save like it is with F10..and enter ..will start anyway and you will set the time in windows..
or ...go to bios directly by pressing F10 if it is a HP computer or ..F2 for any other laptop ..and in there on the time settings just set the time and the date from the arrows and enter ..
if you have other problems and you opened it ...you will have to remove the Bios battery to default it to the factory settings ..this will eliminate any passwords that might had kept you out of bios...if you do not see the battery ..remove the wireless card and see if it is under it ..
