Second LAN not workingI

I cannot get the hub to work for the LAN to my other computer. it worked before i installed XP PRO. suggestions? I installed a new heatsink for my cpu and since then i get an error message when i startup my machine saying that the cpu fan isn't at the right speed or on at all. I manually checked it and it's working great. How can I fix this?? Thanks so much

When you installed xp it has given your pc the default windows ip address; firstly, you will need to check the ip address of your pc that is working through the hub, go to your task bar on right hand side, network icon in the task bar(blue flasing screens)right click, status and then click the support tab. In there you will see the ip address of your pc eg 192.168.2.2, this means your hubs ip address wil be 192.168.2.1 for example, then go to the properties of other pc's network card in control panel, then network conections and on the tcp/ip line click properties again and change it to either obtain ip address automatically or manually insert 192.168.2.3, the next number up from the other pc and a subnet mask as standard 255.255.255.0. the other heatsink problem is that the heatsink originally supplied was supported by your motherboard for checking its temp and speed, but your new one is obviously not supported and is coming up with errors, you should be able to dissable this in the bios F2 or del on boot up.

Belkin F5U307 Hub suddenly doesnot work on my Macbook

The lights (link light) on the hub indicate the LAN cable from the computer to the hub is connected and working.Disconnect the cable fron the hub and the computer then connect the Lan cable to the computer first and the other end of the LAN cable to the hub anf the link light for that LAN port on the hub should light up. If not the LAN cable could be faulty then try a different LAN cable.
NEXT
Try turning off the power to the hub for 30 secs, reconnect the power and check the LED lights. If this does not fix the problem then it appears the hub is faulty.

Windows XP Pro USB HID problem.

First suggestion is to shut down, change ports and then, upon reboot, wait a few minutes to let XP resolve the 'new' USB devices.
Second suggestion is to download and install the manufacturers drivers and then try switching ports.
Final suggestion is to use the port that works. i.e. I went to the doctor and said "It hurts when I do this". He replied "Well, then don't do that.".
Good luck
p.s. you may want to list the model of the keyboard if you would like a more specific response.

Check in the Device manager to see if all the devices are enable and working.
The one with a yellow ? against that device requires a driver installation.
Is the LAN device OK?
How do you intend to setup your LAN, is it for Internet access or a home network?
I need more information on your problem, together with error messages.

Help for installing ws XP and not gettin LAN drivers for vista..

http://welcome.hp.com/country/in/en/support.html

Go to the HP support site and look up your particular model. You did not specify whether you had the CQ100 or CQ110. You can download the lan drivers etc. here.

For installing Windows XP Pro,, you will have to format the drive and do a clean install.

Wifi connection

hello
1. what is the model number of your adapter?
2. what is the operating system of your computer?
3. did you install the wireless adapter on your pc or is it a built in wireless adapter?
-- if you install another wireless adapter on your pc, possible that its the one causing the conflict between the two utility. I suggest to disable the other adapter before installing the other wireless adapter
-- if the wireless adapter is a built in wireless adapter and you are using a windows xp computer, chances are that the built in utility and the xp wzc are the one causing the problem. you have to disable one of this utility to make your connection working
-- the utility is sometimes located at your system. if you wish to use the utility you have to disable the wzx or the other way around.
