My key fob was not working so I changed the battery on it. It now unlocks the car but when I put it in the ignition, my car is totally disabled. I looked in the manuel and it talks about the sensor key system. I have another key thats works fine. What do I need to do to get my key working again??
Check the programming of the key that you changed the battery in
if the battery was out for a period of time , the program could be corrupted
a quality locksmith may be able to reprogram from the good key

keys into ignition turn to number 2. press fob. doors lock press again doors unlock. turn ignition back remove key. press fob lock doors wait 5 seconds press fob to open doors. then try ignition again. should work. if not then there is something like a chip missing from the key or the ring reader on the ignition is not working.
Did you already re-sync?
"After you change the battery, be sure to put the key in the ignition and start the car so it will re-sync."
"You sync it with the key in the ignition turned to 'ON' and press the UNLOCK button 7-10 times."
1. Get in your vehicle.
2. Close the door.
3. Put key in ignition
4. Do not turn on the ignition yet.
5. Hold down on the unlock button on the door panel. Do not let up.
6. Turn the key to ON, OFF, ON, OFF (while still holding the unlock button on the door panel).
7. Release the unlock button.
8. The door locks should cycle, indicating that you did everything correctly.
9. Have all your remote entry fobs available. Hold down on both the lock and unlock buttons until the door locks cycle. Do the same on all key fobs. This will re-program all of them.
10. Turn ON the ignition key to exit the program mode.
11. DONE.
Put key in ignition.
Press unlock button on key fob.
Immobilizer should now recognize it, if it was original fob but car or fob battery was changed or is now low.
Saabs are particular about batteries that are otherwise good, but just below 12 volts.
Take the key apart, replace the battery. The car needs to relearn the key, so stick it in the ignition, turn the car to the "on" setting without starting, press the unlock button on the fob. Thats it!
Insert key into door barrel or ignition lock and turn key, whilst doing this press the unlock/lock button, the led on the dash should flash to indicate this has initialised the key to the car, then remove key and test operation of remote. If this fails then a new remote plus coding to the car by your dealership is needed
1....ensure the battery in the "Key Fob" is OK............Press either Lock or Unlock button for more than 1 second, the lamp on the fob will light if OK. Change battery if it does not illuminate!
2.....if battery on fob OK.......Re Syncronise the key fob to the car by:.... a brief press on either button twice and within 30 seconds turn Key to position 2 on the ignition lock
Hope that fixes it...let me know?
