The connector must have been on it when you replaced it? If you just noticed nothing was connected, there can only be a couple of reasons you can't find it.
1. it is tucked away somewhere out of sight. The wire will only reach so far and it has to come out of the main wiring harness.
2. The connector got loose and it got torn off. In which case, you are looking for just wires.

lots of places oil can leak from: head gasket, oil pan gasket, main bearing gasket, oil pressure sensor, valve gaskets, etc, etc. bad head gasket often leaks oil into coolant, check you radiator and see if it is oily, or check you oil dip stick and see if it is milky
You have to get a special solvent. You put it in the lines to flush them out. Make sure that you have removed the orifice tube. http://www.e38.org/pparish/flushing.htm
