There is a very small connection pin under each button.
If they don't make contact information will not work on remote. You can check this by very carefully opening the remote. Don't open all the way just enough to see if the buttons are lined up. Take a flashlight and magnifying glass and look to see if they are all lined up when you push the remote. If they are not you will be able to see no contact. Take a toothpick and very gently Aline the pins.
If you touch them to hard they will break and your remote will be toast.

From the Manual
a. Find the "frozen" segment according to the display.
b. Press firmly down on the "frozen" segment until it breaks free and the loose fit is restored. Once the "frozen" segments are loosened, the error message should be gone and the board will continue to operate normally.

These must be satisfied first -
Driver Door Trigger must be open
Siren must be hooked up
Valet button must be inserted appropriately

Press and hold the valet button until you hear one chirp and let go.
Press the lock button.
Turn the ignition on to leave programming.

I see this is from 2011 so I hope you figured it out!

1002 Car Alarm... | Answered on Jul 11, 2019

NO! You should not have to. Have the alarm remote in one hand because when you hook the battery cables back up the alarm is going to go off. Push the button to shut it off and that shoukd be it. You should not have to reprogram anything.

Viper Vehicle... | Answered on Jul 10, 2019

Does the remote diarm the alarm? Do you hear the " chirp chirp" when you press the unlock button on the remote? If not, then the remote is defective or needs to be reprogrammed to the alarm. If you do hear the " chirp chirp" but, the doors do not unlock, then the issue is with either the wiring from the alarm or the vehicles power locks. Did it work before? Do you have power door locks?

Remote Start... | Answered on Jul 03, 2019

the remote did not receive a signal back from the module or the module did not receive the remote signal
Check the battery connections there is a connector plug soldered on the board real close to where the battery is, and if it is hit by the battery hard enough it will cause those solder connections to disconnect and you will get the beeps and or other malfunctions
