Can't find an IP Adrress

My PS3 can't pick up the IP Address from my wireless router. This is the first time this problem has occured, and my laptops are connecting to the internet so I know it's not the router.

My PS3 can't find the IP address for my wireless router and I don't know how to enter it

possible cause is that ps3 uses an ip address leased from the wi fi router via its DHCP Server in Router. If PS3 was off for a while another computer on Wi FI network may have been assigned the IP address that the PS3 thinks it has.
Try page 29 of
http://au.playstation.com/media/2Pv7AFEC/CECH-2102B_2103B-3.20_UKANZ[EN]_vf1.pdf
on page 31 change the ip address setting to manual
set ip to 192.168.0.254 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Now exit setup
Then go back into Setup
Change IP address setting to Auto
Why

This will renew the ip address from the DHCP server to the ps3 hopefully allocating you a fresh IP address lease .

Ps3 wont connect to wireless

Hi,

Reset your router, then give your PS3 a static IP address and go into your router interface, find the DMZ feature and put in the IP address that you gave the PS3, just make sure the IP you give it is within the DHCP pool of IP addresses.

The PS3 will now be sat outside the routers firewall giving you FULL access to internet content and gaming online.

Now test connection settings and you will notice you will now have an open connection to the internet.

Thanks

Playstation3 can,t pickup ip address

If you have your internet to your computer and the PS3 you need a router to provide an IP for both. Otherwise your ISP will only provide an IP for what ever was hooked up first most of the time. If this is the case try only the PS3 and do the auto setup. Linksys is a simple router with great support. If there is already a router hooked up please clarify.

My ps3 internet doesn't work

Easy Pie! This is a cinch anda guarantee work through. It involves putting your PS3 into a DMZ (demilitarized zone) which simply means opening all of the ports on it.

If you have the following problems, this is likely to fix it.
  • Not being able to join rooms
  • Not being able to speak over your headset
  • Not being able to hear other people over their headset
  • Not being able to join private games
  • Any problems to do with connectivity to the PSN, especially if your computer will connect to the internet, but your PS3 won't.

Part 1-(On PS3)
  • Firstly, you will need to assign your PS3 a static internal IP address. Normally whenever a device connects to your router it will be assigned a different internal IP address. These are normally 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4 and so on. Assigning a static one will ensure that your PS3 will get the same one every time it connects.
  • Go to the "Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings" option on the PS3 XMB. Choose whether you are using wireless or wired.
  • Both selections should show a page called "Address Settings". Here you will need to select "Custom". Another page will then display entitled "IP Address Setting". The option "Manual" will need to be selected.
  • This will display a page where customizable IP Addresses are available to be entered.
  • IP Address - This will need to have the Static IP address in it. Use 192.168.1.80, simply because it is unlikely that 80 other devices will be connected at the same time.
  • Subnet Mask - always set to 255.255.255.0
  • Default Router - Is the internal IP Address of your router.
    1. To get the exact ip of your router you should go to
    2. Start
    3. Run
    4. cmd [Hit Enter]
    5. Type in ipconfig and hit enter, this should come up with all the ip addresses to do with your computer and the network. The address you will need to enter in this option is listed as "Default Gateway".

  • Primary DNS - Same IP Address as "Default Router"
  • Secondary DNS - Same IP Address as "Default Router"
  • Proxy When you get to the proxy screen, select "Do not use Proxy"
  • MTU Automatic
  • UPnP Enabled

Part 2-(On PC)
  • In your Internet Browser, type the address of your default gateway, this will take you to your Router Configuration Page. Look for any mention of DMZ
  • When you have found this, it will ask you for the Static IP of the DMZ host. This is simply the Internal IP that you assigned your PS3. We used 192.168.1.80.
  • Finally, turn off your Router, PC and PS3 for a few minutes to ensure that the new settings are loaded. Then you're ready to go!

Ps3 not co nnectin g to p-660hw router

You need to enter the router configuration. How you do this varies by model, but usually involves typing your gateway address into a web browser. Then, you need to assign your Ps3 an internal IP address and activate port triggering or forwarding (depending on the sophistication of your device) to send information on the designated ports to the Ps3

Belkin wireless G router not connecting PS3

The PS3 should find the SSID of the network, or you could enter it. And then enter the encryption key, be it WEP or WPA. Everything else should be automatic.

Cant get internet on ps3

make sure that the ip address that you are getting is a valid one and you are connected to the correct wireless network. for example, if your router's ip address id 192.168.1.1, your computer should have an ip address of 192.168.1.x. if you are getting a valid ip address and you're still getting the dns error, the thing that you can do is set a static ip address and dns to your ps3.
if you don't know the dns to use, go to the command prompt and type ipconfig/all and it'll give you a list that'll contain the dns servers. copy the dns and enter it on the ip settings of your ps3 together with the default gateway (ip address of the router), subnet mask (it's usually 255.255.255.0) and your ip address (make sure that the ip address that you'll set on the ps3 is not being used by any of your computers)

hope this'll help you and just ask me if your still having any problem

ciao!
