Problem with FAV6800AWQ model.

Tried to access Service Mode by pressing (EnviroPlus/Spin Only) buttons, nothing happens, it just beeps back at me. Could it be a bad control board or what? Also, most buttons don't respond, won't change settings, won't start cycle, nothing, just keeps beeping back at me, like it doesn't want to do anything. Just beep, beep, beep. I need some help here.

    Hello  jcgraham75 ,

Have you tried pulling the 120VAC power out for 30 seconds and then power back up and try. If that doesn’t work I feel as you said a bad control board. Have you had any recent storm activity, do you have surge protection on the outlet powering the washer?

Hello jcgraham75,

Just to let you know the control board is a warranty part for 5 yrs. Look in the back of the FAV6800A/9800A Service Manual if you don’t have your original documentation for your FAV6800AWQ. You will find warranty info and the customer service phone number. Have your serial number and model number handy. That info is on the back right side of the console. Good luck

Why my maytag washer does not spin

Before calling for service:

1. If you cannot hear the motor running check the lid switch. It's common for them to rust or break.
2. If the motor is running but no spin check the belt appearance and tension.
3. If 1 and 2 are okay go to service mode.
From Page 14 of the Service Manual;
Enter / Exit Service Mode To enter Service Mode press the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the control beeps.
Follow the instructions in the service manual Maytag Washer FAV6800AWQ Repair Parts will give good images to find part locations.

Why won't my washer start a cycle? Start button LED just flashes. All other lights are steady. Door lock sounds like it engaged, but nothing happens.

There should be a way to enter the washing machine into service mode to view an error code. Check your user manual and then you should have your answer!

Won't spin gw608u

Fault code 41 if those are the correct lights. Service manual says faulty temperature thermistor & change the control module. Good luck with that as that model is nearly 20 years old and I don't think F&P supply that module any more.

Washer will not start...indicator lights are on. We have unplugged and tried to start by pressing "cotton/sturdy" and the start/pause. Cannot change settings

Do you hear a double beep sound when depressing any of the other buttons? If so you most likely have a defective key panel. If nothing happens at all, it may be the home control board (inside the control panel). Before you replace the board, try this diagnostics test,
Press and hold the hand wash key and the heavy soil keys for 3 seconds. The display should go to "00" next press the spin only key and the machine should run a quick spin test. When this completes press the "off" key to exit service mode.
Now try the machine, and hopefully you have cleared it's software glitch.
Good luck to you!!

I turn my PS3 on and the screen is always blank. I tried holding the power button for 5 seconds as per the manual and this doesn't help, nothing happens. I also tried entering a safe mode but I can't as I...

I recommend you try to access Safe Mode again.

The way I understand it, your ps3 is supposed to turn off after the third beep as you keep holding the Power button. Then you start the sequence again, and this time you will get the double beep.

Of course, Safe mode is only available for PS3's with system software of 2.60 and higher, perhaps yours is older than that?

I hope that helps.

I have a Maytag Neptune FAV6800AWQ Serial Number

Fireman,

Excellent info wish all post would start off like this. The first two digits of the s/n are your series number a Series 16 machine I’m an owner no expert and will try to help.

I assume you have the Service Manual but just in case.

FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

“”I can grab the drive belt and effortlessly move it back and forth-pulley spins and motor spins--Should it move like this?””

There should be slight resistance.

With the front cover off and be careful of the rotating drive belt can you start a Spin Only cycle?

Do you see the Motor rotate the Clutch Pulley assembly CCW? If so the wash basket should spin CCW just raise the washer top and verify the CCW/Spin rotation.

If that works again with the front cover off start a Quick Wash cycle min Soil/Spin settings and observe as the washer. As it fills the wash basket will be rotating CCW don’t raise the washer top to high or you will spray water around.

After the water fill the washer will start to Wash/Agitate. The Motor will rotate the Clutch Pulley CW and the Tumblers will rotate. Do you see this action.

You can go into Service Mode with this procedure and dump the wash water if the cycle fails with this procedure.

I would go to page 16 of the SM lower right hand part of page, Board Output Test and turn on the drain pump in service mode to pump out the tub.

Enter Service Mode by simultaneously pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

Pressing the Delicates key will lock the lid. Now press the Presoak key the drain pump will turn on. Stop with off button or hit the Presoak key.

Thank you again for the Model number and Serial number…. other readers this is how you post an issue.

Waiting for your feedback………Rich

Maytag neptune washer keeps beeping

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
I have tried to work with a few folks on this issue never received feed back to resolution see this post. I feel the issue is caused by one of three possible issues.

A stuck key issue/defective Spin Cycle key making constant contact forcing the Key/LED to cycle thru the Spin Cycle settings. Under normal conditions if you press and hold the Spin Select key it will cycle thru the settings, yours has a mind of its own (defective issue).

A false signal from the Control Board for the Spin Cycle.

A corrosion path issue at the Membrane Pad ribbon cable socket connection between pins 5 and 4. See page 20 of the SM button functionality “Spin” key.

Try to verify that the spin cycle membrane key is not stuck/defective signaling the Control Board to cycle thru the spin settings. I have not experienced this issue but let’s try the Membrane Pad Test to get a start point. See the Service Manual page 15, I have modified the process to make it a bit more understandable at least for me. Make sure the two digit display is not On or Lite.
Press the off button first so there is nothing displayed in the Two Digit display of your FAV6800AW.

Now Enter / Exit Service Mode

To enter Service Mode press the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or until the control beeps. While in Service Mode, pressing the Presoak key will start a membrane switch check that verifies switch operation.

All the LEDs (except Presoak ) can be toggled or slewed by pressing the key associated with the LED or set of LEDs. Do not press the Presoak again during this test.

Press each key once and only once including the Signal Key the on side and the off side, also the UP and Down Arrow key of the LED display. All keys (including the OFF button) must be pressed within 5 minutes for this test to pass. “PA” will be displayed for five (5) seconds once all keys have been pressed and the test is completed (more like PA will be displayed for only a few seconds on my FAV6800AW). Following 10 seconds of inactivity at any point, this test will exit without any display. Let us know the results.

See my additional comment this board has message limit issues.

Only one of the wash cycles on my Maytag Neptune TL washer still works. Nothing happens when you press the other buttons. Most of the lights for the additional options are out too (e.g. water temperature -...

Is it a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW machine? Sounds like it is. I believe you have a Control Board issue; the Control Board has a 5yr warranty. Do you want to DIY a fix or call in a Appliance Repair Tech? Have you reset the 120VAC power on the machine? If not give the Control Board a hard reset by pulling the washer power plug for 10 seconds or so and then re-power up the machine.
I’ll attach the Service Manual link located on this site for reference. See if you can get into Service Mode, try this.
To enter Service Mode, this from the SM.
Enter / Exit Service Mode
To enter Service Mode press the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys simultaneously for three seconds or until the control beeps. The Console display will show “00”.

Access Board Output Test by pressing the Delicates key. The console display will show “ot”

The lid lock will lock and the Quick Wash LED will be lit. Will the machine allow you into Service Mode? If not then it’s time to replace the Control Board. Press the Off button to back out of Service Mode.

Let me know what direction you want to go. Rich
