Audio humm on VIZIO VW32LHDT30A

There is an audible humm when watching listening to cable TV/music. The humm oly gets louder with increased volume.

There are also horizontal bars slowly traveling up the screen at the same time.

I had the same audio humming problem (no horizontal bars though)on my Vizio VW32L, so I exchanged the set. The second set hummed even louder. This was with an antenna mounted in the attic.

You have a bad ground through the cable box or cable system. This causes AC to leak into the TV showing up as bars that roll from bottom to top and sometimes audible as well. Have the cable company replace the cable box and/or check out for proper grounding outside at the demarcation point.

There is a dull hum in the speakers even when the volume is muted. is this a settings issue or is the tv broken

Are we talking about TV-speakers or audio system speakers?

Where are you muting it - on the TV, Cable box or the audio system?

A standard TV's CRT emits a lot of magnetic energy which could be picked up by nearby audio cables or speaker wire. Increasing the distance between the CRT and speakers or wires will lessen the effect. Nearby power cords should also be avoided or run them at right angles to audio cables to minimize hum.

The TV's internal speakers should be sufficiently shielded from its own internal componentry.

I have a problem in my audio rig where I get an audible buzz from all the speakers if I have the wall-mounted variable track lights on. So I listen with other light sources on. Food for thought.

The volume on our E67 series tv will not go past a certain level. how can i fix that?

It is true that you won't start to hear this television's volume increasing until the volume level passes 10. Then it gets louder until the volume level gets to 30 then between 30 and 60 it doesn't get any louder. This is the nature of this particular television. You can go into the audio category of the menu and increase the treble and the bass. Listen to the television with surround on and then off to see which one is louder. Connect the television to a sound bar.

After a television is a year or two old it may start to degrade naturally so you might benefit from being walked through an INIT. Call 877-332-7867 to be walked through one and the television may sound louder after it is complete.

Back ground music louder than voices watching movies on cable

Is this a new problem or always like this? <<<<<<<<

What is your speaker complement? The center usually carries the dialog.

Are the receiver and its speaker systems set up per the manual? Make it so.

How is the TV-related (Cable) audio entering your receiver? It SHOULD be from the cable box, digitally if available, NOT the TV. You don't need a Low-Fi middleman handling your audio.

I would check your center speaker wiring and setting. Then switch to a different audio setting (pro logic, theater...)

Cannot listen to any sound without the ear piece

You can play it through the TV as if it was video, using the Battery Dock. Similarly, just put it through my stereo by connecting the audio cables to the AUX input (leave the Video unattached). Just remember the volume levels on the 405 need to be upped when playing through the TV and stereo and you'll probably have to turn the TV and stereo up to a lot louder than norma;when watching TV or playing a CD, so remeber to turn them down before switching back, otherwise the neighbours (or speakers) may blow.

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.

Vizio 42" LCD HDTV audio issues

First of all go into the audio menu settings and turn off the "surround" feature off and that should fix the voices/music differences. Does the craking sound appear while watching any sorce such as cable box,sat rcvr or DVD player? If not isolate it to that input and maybe that device is giving the problem.
