Yamaha RX-V563 Receiver Questions & Answers
My Yamaha RX-V563 receiver displays "Check Speaker
Look closely at the rear connector panel of the receiver and look for pieces of stray strand wire that may be touching the speaker A binding post and the receiver chassis. If you are not using strand wire connection to the binding post then check whatever connector type you are using such as banana plug or spade plug for breakage or corrosion, the same goes for the speaker cable itself which isn't always so easy to detect. A few broken strands can cause a problem. If it is clean, turn off the receiver and disconnect the speaker cable. Check the binding post for tightness; if you can wiggle it then it is broken and needs to be replaced.
Yamaha Receiver sound cuts out with Dolby Digital.
Your problem is related to HDMI technology not the Receiver. HDMI in it's current version 1.3b has worked out 90% of the current problems being reported by HDMI users. it's a problem with HDCP digital copyright protection and the recording industry not wanting us "consumers" to duplicate or record their DVD's. Your receiver and every other receiver with version 1.1,-1.2, & 1.2a just don't cooperate with BluRay and even HD Cable or HD Sat receivers. If you just purchased this receiver recently, return it and get an 09' model or equivalent with 1.3a or 1.3b HDMI technology. If this unit is "un-returnable" then, what needs to happen is you need to run component video and digital audio to the receiver OR Run your HDMI directly to your TV and run a Digital Coaxial to your DVD audio input on the receiver. Depending on how many sources you are running to the TV via HDMI will be limited to the TV's capability (how many HDMI inputs)
Now, if your TV is 50" or smaller, the difference between running HDMI and Component is unmeasurable to the human eye. So, if you have to run component, don't sweat it! just use good cable, ie. Monster, Phoenix, Translucent etc. I do theese installs every day, and I still prefer Component or DVI if available over HDMI. They just haven't proved the reliability to me yet and we're three years in! Hope this helps
1080p from ps3 through rx v563 not working
It is likely then that your receiver does not support the progressive scan signal. However, it is not a requirement to run your video signal through your receiver and doing so most of the time creates problems in instances where the video signal processing that it is performing is the same as what your TV would be doing. This causes problems like the one you are having. It is the equivalent of attempting to stir a pot of soup with identical spoons but they aren't synchronized so they conflict and make a mess. It is only in those instances where a receiver has video signal processing capabilities that your TV does not, that these common connections found on them are useful, i.e.; video upscaling. But most modern flat panel TV's already do that be default automatically and disabling it often requires service menu access. The best possible video will be achieved with your equipment by connecting your PS3 directly to your TV. If you need additional inputs for the TV, the use of a switch box is best.
Set up Wii with my
I had the same problem and found you have to connect the yellow video cable directly to the TV. Am finding that the component cables plugged into the receiver are not delivering video through the HDMI out to the TV.
I have the same problem with plugging in a video camera to the V-Aux on the front of the receiver and still havent figured out how get the video to show up on the TV, so if you find something else out please post.
My Yamaha RX-V563 cuts off
You could - or you could try getting it fixed. Its good you disconnected all cables as a test. That eliminated all external causes. At this point, either the amp module or the protection circuit is bad; either probably require professional attention. Sorry - good drowning.
Very loud buzzing from speakers
check all connections to and from the amp. have you got animals in the house. They can accidenty pull plugs while exploring behind your units.
