If dryer lights for a few minutes and will not stay lit, I believe the solenoid coils will need to be replaced. Click on link below, enter your model number lgr5620kq1 in model search feature and go to the dryer page it shows a breakdown view of your dryer. Also go to common solutions and look for gas dryer problems. I will also be here to help you, Sea Breeze

My maytag front loader gas dryer blows hot and then blows cold what could be the problem?

Hello

When the dryer wont dry clothes or won't heat at all it means that the issue is with the Thermostat/Thermal fuse that needs replacement as it has gone bad. Please check the thermostat for continuity as no continuity between its two pins states bad fuse. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Lgr5620kq1 dryer, heat comes on but does not stay on,

If you find that the dryer initially lights, then goes out and the igniter coil glows, then also goes out, it's the valve solenoid coil, about $25.

There is a temperature limit switch as well. This usually either fails entirely (no heat at all) or operates the burner out of the normal range (often showing up as clothes taking too long to dry).

A clogged dryer vent will cause problems with heat cycling, too.

My dryer doesn't stay lit

This could be a operating thermostat/thermister if it comes back on again and continues that cycle. If it stays off a long time then it could be the coils on the gas valve. Eric

Aouto dry timer doesnt shut off system when clothes dry

It could be as simple as cleaning the sensors with rubbing alcohol. Build up from dryer sheets will cause erratic operation. It could also be a bad gear or dirt in the timer. Eric

Dryer turns on, gets hot, but knob does not move with timer.

could be your operating thermostat on your heater or your timer if it runs on timed dry but not auto dry then it is a thermostat issue if it just does not run at all then it is a timer issue also make sure your vent is clear check by removing vent hose from back of unit and running a load if it works properly clean your vent.

Clothes wont dry but gets really hot

Hello, sounds like your cold water feed hose has got a kink in it. The machine needs cold water to condense the steam. Just pull out the machine and slowly slide back into place.

Tumble dryer not drying

Either dryer element has failed, thermostat for drying or the drying condenser fan not working.

There are two heating elements and the top one is for drying.
