The tapes In my Panasonic PV-GS14 are stuck and won't run

I have a Panasonic PV-GS14. I recorded on the tape in the machine (I think I did, because when I pressed record it said I was recording) but when I try to rewind or fast forward the tape is stuck. It won't rewind or fast forward. I've now taken the tape out of the camera and, sure enough, I can't get the tape to roll either direction. What now? At first the problem was that the camera kept continually asking me to press the 'reset' button. How do I get my tapes unstuck?

You cannot move the spindles/cogs in a mini dv tape without pressing down a small lever on the rear of the cassette.
the lever is in the lower right, move the lever, then move the ribbon protector to the open position, then spin the cogs, the tape should be free.
if not, then you have a jamm inside the cassette, you can open these casettes by removing 4 small screws. ( this is a very fiddly job & you may ruin the casette, if you dont know how )

SOURCE: Help it's going to fast

Your camera has a capstan servo problem which is more than likely being caused by the capstan motor itself.Nothing you can do youself, would suggest bring to service but reccomend getting estimate before repairing.

My panasonic vhsc camcorder will playback video and sound but it will not record sound what is wrong?

Sounds like the tape particles have stuck to the sound heads, just buy a head cleaner for camera, run it on record mode for 25 seconds max ok.

My Panasonic pv-gs180 doesn't record.

If you have Head Cleaning Cassette play it at 10 seconds or use new Cassette for 10 minutes play or record. Otherwise Video Head damage

Raplace a tape roller on a Panasonic Palmcorder

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

When trying to play a tape the tape shows lines through it. Anyone know how to fix this?

You may need a MiniDV head cleaner tape. Read the instructions on the tape carefully and good luck.

Blue bars across video

I have the same problem with my PV-GS14. You have to find the last spot you recorded in, pause it, then switch to record, and just record something for a couple of seconds. Switch back to playback, and it should be fine. Neonlaundry, I read your other posts, and it seems we both have the same problems. If you find a solution, please post it. Thnks.

"Tape Not Inserted" on Panasonic PV-DV203 palmcorder

hai, If you are service engineer you can do this problem, Please, check the cassette IN sensing Switch. The place of the Switch is right side of the mechanism, Clean S/w with IPA solution & check. It will be ok or other wise you have replace s/w or mechanism.
