What size blade is needed for a hitachi cw40 scroll saw? 5 inch seems too small but that's what they say online...

I have a Skil bandsaw model Nr. 3104 Type 1 for which I need new upper and lower Blade Guides and upper and lower Thrust Rollers. I have not been able to find a parts list for this band saw so I can order...

Is it a three wheeled band saw? I can't find a manual or parts diagram. Check Skil's website. They don't have manuals available online for older band saw but you can call them. I have an obsolete band saw too and I bought aftermarket band saw guides for it on bandsawparts.com . I think they don't have for Skil saws.

I have an old Dremel scroll saw model 550 and need blades. However, the blade holder is missing a clamp that secures the blade. Is there a universal kit I can purchase to solve problem?

Try going to a store that sells scroll saws and look at the new models to see how they hold the blade. Take your Dremel with you. Maybe you can find one that is similar enough that could work if you can get the part. Then go to the tool company's web site and search for the manual for the comparable tool you found - they all have on-line manuals nowadays. You should be able to order the part you need. Good luck!

Scroll saws generally have to be loosened in two spots. One spot is above the blade near the tip of the arm. The other is generally below the plate. Most scroll saws come with a special tool that has an allen wrench type end accompanied by a round peg that is inserted just above or below the spot for the allen wrench.This peg type end helps to hold the tool in place and keeps the saw arm from moving around. The other end of the tool has a handle.

According to the Sears web site, your sroll saw uses the #8030 blades, which have been replaced with #5088029. These are available from any Sears store or online at the following link, see item #31 or 31A, priced at $4.00

It would appear that the owners manual for your scroll saw has been discontinued and is no longer available (Sears #405015) But the line drawing and parts list may be of some value to you, should you need to do any repairs later on.

Changing blade on Dremel scroll saw

I would suggest calling Dremel direct at 1-800-437-3635 and asking for tech help. You might also try their website at Dremel.com, but I have been there and you need to know the exact model number. Let me know and I will dig deeper.

I desperately needed both upper and lower blade holders for my RBI 220 Hawk Ultra, and since RBI has closed their doors, I had a machine shop make both holders. I will be selling an extra of each on EBAY starting 4/19, Listing #'s are; 150340223040 and 150340223051 I hope that this will help out someone else who has now found themselves with a obsolete RBI saw.

I just got a newer used RBI, my old faithful one is dying. I could send you a photocopy of the manual, (if you did not get one already), lower blade holder (if this is the plastic catch for the round blade holder, as well as the round blade holder unity and brass sleave. $10.00 to cover shipping / handling would be appreciated.
