Hi,

Sometimes the installation of improper drivers would cause your HP Laptops to reboot.

To verify that you would have to right click on my computer and on the properties, click on the hardware tab and then device manager.

By doing so you would see a number of icons and you would have to update the driver of those icon with red or yellow signals.

SOURCE: hp laptop dv9208nr keeps trying to reboot but never fully starts

goto hp.com, click on drivers and downloads section, when on the downloads page, look on the right hand side, there will be a link to see if your PC qualifies for free repair by HP, the dv2000, dv6000, and dv9000 series laptops are having video problems and wireless card problems, and your PC may be one of the affected models, if so there is info provided to start the repair process, hope this helps, if so please give an appropriate rating. Thanks

Hp dv9208nr with vist sp2, system keeps rebooting, screen stays blank, cant even get to bios

hi,

When the files in your system are corrupted, your HP laptop would reboot automatically. When the files which are required to run the Operating System like fonts under Windows FONTS directory are been smashed then your system's Operating System will force your HP Laptops to restart continuously. Thus in such a situation you would have to change the name FONTS in the Windows directory.

Reboot my hp laptop

Hold and press the power button down ( and dont let go ) for at least 10 seconds or untill laptop shuts down and you can reboot by powering it back up by pressing power again. If it still shows access denied after you rebooted then more than likely you need a password.
