I get an E6 message while trying to sew on my Brother cs-6000

The machine will sew perfect for about 1 second then it will lock up with the error message E6. The stitches sewn were perfect and the machine is sounding like it is fine.

Brother FS155 Sewing Machine. E6 error?

It is covered here in videos and articles. Try running it with no thread in it at all. If it runs, it is a problem with threading. Speed issues are caused by the foot controller rather than the machine UNLESS, it is an issue with the motor itself.

My brother cs-6000i computer sewing machine shows a E6. I cleaned around the bobbin and checked the needle. I replaced the bent needle and it still does the same thing "E6". What will fix this?

Follow the instructions below if you receive the error message "E6"
1. Check if the machine rattles and stops as soon as the sewing starts
- Upper thread could be tangled or threaded incorrectly
- Check that the thread take-up lever is threaded

- Raise the presser foot to raise the needle to its highest position and re-thread the machine
2. Remove the bobbin and bobbin case
- Clean any lint or loose threads

- Install the bobbin case so that the projection on it aligns with the spring and install the bobbin into the bobbin case

3. The needle could be bent
- Check that the needle does not hit the needle plate
- Replace the needle if necessary
- Make sure the flat side is facing the back
If the problem persists, your machine may require service.
If the machine is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.

What kind of thread are you trying to use? Is it a decent fresh thread? If, it is old, throw it out and buy some fresh quality thread. Usually, cheap thread is the problem.

Go to www.brother-usa.com and you can download your manual for free or call them, Your E6 message means that you have a thread tangled and you must get it out of the machine, totally unthread and brush bobbin area and feed dogs then, unplug and it will reset, then plug in and rethread,

I have the same problem and found that the bobbin case is scratched. These are quite expensive so I hope yours is something more simple. Keeping the bobbin area clean is also a necessity.

Are you using the right size needle? Try using an 80. Also try taking it to a service center. To find one near you go here: http://www.brother-usa.com/service/
