Model KSM90 10 speed ultra power stand mixer leaking oil at the shaft where mixer tools attach. Is there a repair kit which includes a oil seal or something like that at a reasonable price?

This is the end seal of the motor, you can get parts from manufacturer. you will need a service manual, OR go to the manufacturers web site and contact them.

Carefully pry the chrome ring from the gearhead of the mixer. Item 28 on this page :

You will find 5 screws under the chrome ring. Tighten them and the oil (grease) will stop leaking from the gasket which seals the gearcase halves.

Oil seal around the shaft probably dried up. Before replacing, try penetrating oil at seal, wait a day; if no better, replace seal.

The sealed bearing are probably leaking. They will need to be changed. Or, clean the unit well before using and wait for the bearing to start to freeze up, then get it fixed. Might work for a long time with weaping bearings.

Hi,I'm a hobart tech and repair these mixer's often.If you see oil in the drip cup then the center shaft seal in the transmission is worn.If there is oil near the transformer then the motor shaft seal is also bad.Hobart doesnt release their service manuals to the public but if you go to their site www.hobartcorp.com you can register for free and get a parts manual thats helpful.If you need help with the repair let me know,i can step you through it.

I took mine apart and all the grease had settled down around the shaft in the housing due to lack of use,found no seal.Going to spread grease back up on gears,see what happens.I found this at KitcheAids web site.Good luck.
