Since the Kohler Command Pro CV490 series is technically retired according to Kohler, Is it possible to replace that engine with a larger ci/cc engine? The CV490 series is a single piston vertical shaft engine at 17.5hp & 490 cc engine. The CV620 is a v-twin cylinder vertical shaft engine at 18hp & 624 cc's. I am unsure of the total dimensions of the CV490 series engine, but the CV620 is 21.2 L X 17.7 W X 14.3 H inches
Technically it is possible to do a heart trnasplant
all you need to check are the mounting flange holes or be able to drill new holes in the mower frame
and next the method of attaching the drive pulley or pto to the crank shaft has to be considered
