Check to make sure your connections are good. Also check to make sure your set is not in SAP mode. This will give you a no audio condition. If all checks good, take the back of your set and check to make sure the speaker wires are not pinched. If they check good, then either your speakers are defective, or your main board is defective.

You have some bad capacitors on the power supply board inside the TV. Go to the shop jimmy web site to find repair kits or new boards.

37in model 37pf7320a/37 , wont stay off settings mode

I fixed a Phillips 37" TV that was doing this by re-soldering the wire/pin joints on the button board (side of TV). You have to take the TV apart and have a soldering iron to do this, of course. But it's really not that hard to do.

sounds like a failed backlight or inverter.
larger LCD sets use multiple lamps horizontally across the screen.

I have an LG LCD TV (LG 37LG5000 37IN). I also have an older DVD Home Theatre System (SONY DAV-DZ100). It seems that the surround system works well with DVDs but I cannot get the sound to work with DIGITAL...

It works fine if you plug the surround system SCART lead into the AV2 input. I believe this is a 'smart' scart plug (same as SONY but it is not mentioned as in the literature). The AV1 is only good for inputs NOT outputs as well.
