GE PDW9700 - The dishes do not get cleaned

Recent changes in the law prevent soap makers from putting phosphates in dishwasher soap so they're not as effective as the were even a few months ago.  Unfortunately,  the solution is more thorough rinsing before loading.

Clean out the holes on the spray arms, or replace the spray arms.

Try some Iron Out. Follow directions carefully. It's very strong and caustic. Be careful not to inhale the fumes of the powder!

have experienced this problem on some zanussi machines. what is happening is that the machine continues thro cycle thinking there is water in machine when there is not. can be caused by:
slow pump rate caused by blockage especially near the drain pump inlet
faulty pressure stat

to whom it may conern:
about six month ago I purchese the dishwasher, But It just stopped working, the green clean light just blinks all day and night, but wont start it's, when I push the red start button comes on but turns off about 5 seconds later turns of, and wont run and clean my dishes. Could you please help me get strat the dishwasher to start up and run again. Thank you patrick c smith

I had the same problem and it was fixed by switching dishwasher soap. We always used the same liquid soap for years and when this problem came out of the blue (about 8 months ago) I switched to Cascade action pacs with Dawn. It did the trick! No more residue since then. We now are having a problem with the dishwasher not draining (our unit is 8 years old), but the grit issue has been handled!

I had an old machine with a similiar problem & I found that food had somehow entered into the arm that spins & sprays out water. The food blocked somewhat the holes which of course means less cleaning.
