Hi,

My experience has been that most of the time when a gas dryer does not heat, that the igniter has gone bad...
The other less common problem is that the coils of the gas valve go bad...
Other problems can be the thermostat, the high limit, or the thermal fuse going bad...

in the control board you should have a motor relay and a heat relay,they are the same part you can swap it out with the heat relay to see if that's your problem or you have an even heat board in there that's bad,next time send model number

It could be a couple of things, but I would start with the flame sensor. Different models work differently.

Check your heating elements. check the outside exhaust door is it open.

i have a kenmore series 70's gas dryer that will not heat up when it is turned on and i am now smelling gas when i do try to dry my clothing. it was working yesterday but now this is happening? please help.

Most times I replace the coil assy. on gas control valve. OR could be the sensor.Or both.
