My epson tx700 printer dispaly ink pad at end of life and printer not start

A fix from a forum:

Procedure 1 We found this procedure to work for the Stylus Photo 1270 type printer, and understand that it also works for the 870 range and even earlier models like the Stylus Color 740. The error is indicated on these printers by all four lights on the printer flashing. Even if you press the power switch on the printer, the lights continue to flash, and the printer does not turn off!
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable, for at least 20 seconds;
  3. When you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer's power switch was 'on' - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds (i.e. then release the button);
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.
Procedure 2
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete it's processing, then turn off for a few seconds, and back on again for a newly working printer!
Procedure 3 - for 1290 and possibly 890 printers 1290 printer with green (power / data) and red (ink / paper feed) lights flashing alternately:
  1. Switch off printer with panel switch;
  2. Switch off printer at mains switch - leave off for 20+ seconds;
  3. Hold down roll feed and sheet feed buttons;
  4. Switch on at mains;
  5. Switch on at printer panel;
  6. Continue to hold down roll and sheet feed buttons until both green and red lights flash together in synchronisation, not alternately;
  7. Switch printer off and then, after a few seconds, on again at mains switch;
  8. When red and green lights are both flashing in synchronisation, release the roll and sheet feed buttons;
  9. Press and hold down the ROLL FEED button (the one at the extreme left) and keep it down until the machine finishes whirring, cleaning etc and the green light comes on steady;
  10. Release the roll feed button and all should be well.

HP psc 1315 printers lights keep glowing ...not working

Hi,
this issue basically occurs if the printer carriage is not moving properly or if there is a need to reset the printer. From the information provided it indicates that the issue might be with the printer hardware malfunctioning. However, before confirming the same let us try to resolve the issue by performing the steps. If the issue persists, then I am afraid the printer needs the service/replacement.
Kindly, follow the steps listed below to resolve the issue:
*** Step 1: Check the power*****
1. Verify that the computer and the all-in-one product have a three-prong power plug.
2. Remove the product cable from any power strips or surge suppressors, and plug it directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall outlet.
*** Step 2: Power cycle
Please perform the steps below to power cycle your all-in-one, performing power cycle will remove electrical surges from the printer.Before performing these steps please remove the surge protector and connect the printer directly to the outlet.
Please follow the steps below to power cycle your all-in-one:
1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB/Ethernet cable.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power cable only.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the cable from the all-in-one to your computer.
6. Now check the functionality
Now, this should refresh the printer by removing the surges if any.
*** Step 3: Reset the printer
Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:
1. Disconnect and then reconnect the power cord.
2. When the lights begin to flash, press and hold On/Resume and Number of Copies.
When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release the buttons.
When the On/Resume light is steady, the reset is complete.

*** Step 4: Clean the cartridges
I am enclosing an HP web site wherein the instructions are included to clean the cartridges, please visit to perform them:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00094661
After performing the steps now check the functionality of the printer. By now, I beleive the issue is resolved. However, If the issue persists, then I am afraid it indicates that the issue is with the printer hardware malfunctioning and the unit is not functioning properly and the unit might require service/replacement.
I regret for the inconvenience caused.
If you wish you can go for upgrade options that are nothing but refurbished models offered by HP at lower costs compared to marked prices with certain extended warranty. If you are intrested in these upgrade options then let us know so that we can furnish the details to you.
In the end, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience as I could not assist you much in this regard due to the (hardware ) nature of the issue.
You can always get back to us for further technical support. If you have further questions please reply to this mail, I look forward to assist you.

Power light and red light keep flashing alternatively

If both lights are flashing alternately, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utilit to reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation.

However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer.

If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help.
