After not using the scale for a few months and then moving it and switching it on it goes through its start up procedure until the "gross" indicator lights up then it stops the procedure and continally beeps. I dont have a manual so dont know if it needs some king of super reset (the reset button just restarts and we end up in the same place.
Any time you let something set you should check the battery backup it might be low power beep telling you it is bad.

The LX300+ models have issues with the wiring harnesses chaffing against the metal chassis. They will often randomly show a paper-out condition as well as beep, etc...
We use the LX300+ models with our products as a logging printer and I frequently have to add a sheath over the wiring in these locations to take care of this issue.

The operators manual does not give any indication about what to look for if the error light is on.
Here's what the manual states about the paper light:
This light indicates the near end of the paper roll. Install a new paper roll and the printer will continue printing. When the light blinks, it indicates the self-test printing standby state or macro execution Standby state when the macro execution command is used.
