Just bought the Sony Bravia DAV-HDX576WF system. The wireless S-AIR Receiver will not pair with main unit. Have even set the receiver directly in front of unit. Because it won't pair, you have to manually change the receiver to tv or dvd, or etc... and manually adjust volume for rear surround speakers. Ugh... Please help and be gentle. Helpful hints for dummies would help. Thanks Much.
I almost went out and bought a Sony HDMI cable but I tried something first and it worked me. I wrapped tightly the transceiver on the back of the main unit with aluminum foil and what do you know it fixed the problem. I guess since I was using a cheap HDMI cable the foil helped to shield out the interference. Sony HDMI cable $70.00 or aluminum foil 5 cents. Let me know if this works for you as well.

In order to properly pair the units, verify that the channel switch on the back of the sub units are set to either A, B, or C. Then go into the setup menu and go to setup tab. You can then scroll down to system setup. Verify that the base unit is set to the same channel as your sub units A, B, or C. You then can choose the pairing operation. Have your sub units close to the base and on for this operation. They must be linked to have the pairing operation work. The pairing option will ask if you are ready to pair a sub unit. Select OK. You will then be instructed to begin pairing. Find the pairing button on the back of the sub unit and depress. Depending on the sub unit you may see a red light flash or the front display will say pairing. Once complete the menu screen on the TV will tell you that the pairing is complete and ask if you would like to do another unit. Continue if you have another unit or select OK to complete the process. Once you return to the system setup menu the channel indicator A, B or C will have the work pairing next to it (i.e A (pairing)). If you continue to have trouble you can change the RF channel on the system setup menu from AUTO to ON. Good Luck. CEB
Try removing the HDMI cable and pair the speakers. I read another review that stated the HDMI cable is beside the transmitter on the rear of the main unit and causing interference. When I removed the HDMI cable and replaced with Component Video, my unit paired immediately and the rear speakers worked. I am going to purchase a higher-end HDMI cable and hope it solves the problem. The reason I purchased this unit was to watch bluray in 1080p which requires the HDMI cable. Hope this helps.

Every time I try to pair the main unit and the s air unit, it says pairing failed. So annoying. Just put the speaker outlets in the back of the main unit and let me worry about getting speakers in the right place. I have no idea what to do next, but will try calling sony directly in the morning.
