No sound on my 32'' Insignia LCD HDTV

I bought this TV about 5 months ago, and three months ago the problem first showed up. I didn't have any sound using cable, but I still have sound on my DVDs. Cable guy came and checked it and said that the problem is with TV. I connected cable box to the TV using audio/video cable (like a composite) and it worked that way fine. However, two days ago I again didn't have any sound on any of composites (cable and DVD), for about 2 minutes, but then everything was OK. Today I came home and turned on TV, and there is no sound for about half an hour already.

Does anyone have an idea what might be a problem here?

Thanks!
I have a Insignia TV, purchased in 2006, picture great, volume does not work, TV has no reset buttom, help! I have a 26" insignia. The sound problem would come and go. I would get high static sound, no sound, and then sometimes the sound would work fine.

I have the same problem on my insignia 26inch. Sometimes, I get the audio fine, but some times I get a lot of static sound and no proper volume. Now I have this static even when playing DVD's or when I am playing my Wii. My Tv is only 1 year 3 months old. Please help!!!!

I have a similar problem with my 32" Insignia. Problem came when I connected the cable box to the composite video and audio port on the tv. I can get back the audio if I press the input button on the remote and then press enter - essentially reselecting composite video as the input.

Problem does not happen if I use the coax input.

I have the 26" Insignia. Recently I turned on the TV and no sound. Nothing. I have tried every thing but just silence. I completely disconnected everything from the tv and reconnected everything and still no sound. This TV has worked well for about a year and with out changing anything all of the sudden no sound. How can I fix this?

I have the same problem with my 19". First the tv started lowering the volume by itself, next the volume would go off for days, and now no volume for 3 days. The volume indicator just stays on the screen holding on zero. You can't move the volume with the remote or by engagaing the knob on the tv.

Try to unplug the tv for a few seconds and then plug it back in again.

We just bought an insignia tv and blu ray dvd player and need a code for the dvd player to put in the tv remote

There is not a code that Insignia can provide to use the TV remote with your Blu-ray player, but there is a programming method that can be found here.

Red tint on my TV, instead of all colors? Reset doesnt work?

Sounds like the component cables are misplaced. Check that, and report back.

Sharp aquos hdtv has sound but shows a white screen

yes and no. That particular tv you have is done for, but if you just purchased it 6 months ago, you are still within you 1 year warranty with sharp. they will ask you to take it to a authorized service center and you need to follow through with the process. about a week or 2 will pass and the service center will deem the unit unrepairable and sharp will replace it if they cant solve the problem. give em call..good luck 2u

No sound on my 32'' Insignia LCD HDTV

you might try checking the sap (secondary audio programming) option in your tv if it has one make sure it is turned off. if it is off or does not have that option you will most likely have to take it to a repair shop. i would not try to fix it my self as you will do more harm than good.

Sound and Volume trouble

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.

No sound on my 32'' Insignia LCD HDTV

I have a question? Do you move your Television frequently, OR do you unplug it frequently when it's not in use? I have found that doing either or both of those things can bring on problems, especially audio problems.

I've had the disappearing sound problem twice with my Element FLX-2610. This latest time I was stumped because the full scan didn't resolve the problem. And of course, the sparse manual that comes with the TV contains no troubleshooting advice at all.

But I did find a suggestion on another sveral other sites: Reset the TV. You might have a small reset button (like you would find on a DSL modem) somewhere on your TV but there is a manual way to do it two. Whichever way you do, MAKE SURE to disconnect every single device (yep, it's a pain) and UNPLUG the TV before doing this.

To reset with a reset button, disconnect devices and unplug the TV. Depress the reset button for 5 seconds. Reconnect devices, then plug in the TV.

Manual Procedure:
Disconnect all devices
Unplug the Television
Using the on/off button on the Television (NOT on the remote), depress and hold the button for 5 seconds.
Reconnect the devices, then plug in the TV.

Unless something has shorted out or burned up inside, this resetting, as a last resort, should fix the audio problem. Worked like a charm for me!

Good Luck!
