If you use powder detergent ( clay carrier) the build up is from undissolved powder ( clay)
It forms cakes between the spin tub and the outer bowl
The fix is to pull the washer apart and physically remove the caked up mud from all parts of the machine
The prevention of future mud is to use liquid detergents rather than powders
It works like this powder detergents have a small percentage of actual detergent in use and that is dried onto a clay base as a transporter agent
In the wash , the detergent is released but the clay will not dissolve
Most is pumped out with each spin but a certain amount remains , dries and starts the dirt process through the clothes
With liquid detergents there is the same amount of actual detergent but the carrier is water and that is diluted in the spin and completely flushed away

If you can't rub the glass because it's coated, try an auto-parts store for solvent to remove the chalk.
If it's bare glass, a razor-blade scraper will do the trick, but don't scrape the tinted/coated side! Or you could use an auto-detailers clay bar - see http://www.wikihow.com/Use-a-Clay-Bar

You can try Vinegar or get a clay removal from parts store will remove paint and just about anything the clay will...
or a good cleaner /wax

clay tiles have little more lifespan than that of concrete. While clay tile is only popular in its red color, concrete tiles are available in wide range of colors.
Clay tiles break easily but concretes do not. But both concrete and clay tiles are the pinnacles of beauty.

"If your clay is just a little dry or firm, it may only require the addition of Sculpey Clay Softener to reconstitute it (about 6 - 8 drops per 4 oz clay or 2 - 4 drops per 2 oz clay).The Clay Softener will not restore clay once it has become very hard or after it has been baked. If the clay is already crumbly, it has either had too much exposure to heat or old enough to have already undergone some chemical changes. At this stage, it cannot be reconstituted satisfactorily. Adding a pinch of Sculpey MoldMaker to clay that is a little dry or firm will also help reconstitute it."

You can dry it in the oven:

1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Remove all pots and pans from the oven. The clay gives off smoke that adheres to the pots and pans.

2. Place the modeling clay on a baking sheet and set it in the oven. Place it on the bottom shelf of the oven to give more room overhead. To prevent the clay from sticking to the baking sheet, place parchment paper on top of the baking sheet. Once you are finished, it is safe to use the baking sheet for cooking again, just wash it off with warm water and dish soap.

3. Wait at least 20 minutes and check on the clay. Touch the Rose Art clay to see if it is still soft. Larger, thicker clay pieces take longer to bake, so if the clay is still soft place it back in the oven

4. Check the clay every 10 minutes until the entire piece is hard. Once hard, remove it from the oven and allow it time to cool.

If you live in an older part of Town, You most likely have an older Sewer, 4-6" clay drain tile leaving your house. This Tiles is in 2-4ft clay sections, layed together with concrete and other ("OLD FASHION TECH") You or your neighbor probably have roots in your old clay tiles creating a blockage. The Roots can enter through the cracks between the old joints of the clay tile in search for a great supply of water!!!
