Now check and let me know if there are any status lights and if the computer still beeps. If yes, observe what type of beeps are emitted from the computer.

the problem is in your laptop...maybe it damaged too when you plugged your old adaptor. you should check your laptop for a repair...maybe it needs to replace tha spare parts that may have been damaged.
I'm assuming you are using a GENUINE Dell laptop charger designed for this model?
Check the end of the adaptor, if it is the type that has the centre pin, make sure it has not snapped off. Check the adaptor is putting out 20 volts DC by connecting a multimeter to the outer and inner parts of the DC jack.
Usually, the ac adaptor LED will flash green if there is no charge going to the laptop ("spitting back power"), however, a dead adaptor is often recognised by a lack of the lED light glowing
You can try with a universal adaptor, it will not charge the battery but at least will eliminate the charger or the charging circuit. If this also fails to power up the laptop, then the issue lies with damage to the motherboard
as u said that when u plugged in the ac adaptor into the laptop it recognises that the ac adaptor is connected but it does not charge the laptop in this case what u can do is that if have the same charger extra then u can try with the another charger and if the other charger also does the same thing then in this case u need to replace the mmotherboard and if the other charger is working fine in this laptop then definately chage ur aac adaptor.....good luck...
Actually, if it is beeping as though the battery is low even while it is plugged in, it is because the battery is no longer any good and is sucking all the power from the wall. You need to purchase a new battery. Until you get a new battery, you can simply remove the battery and use the laptop plugged in. That will stop it from turning off. Been there - done that. Hope that helps! ; )
unplug and repulg the batteries and adaptor and then see
conect teh laptop wd adaptor wd out the bat and then see
even after these it doesnt work ..laptop needs to go for the repair
Disconnect the AC adaptor, Take the battery out and press and hold the power button about 5 seconds. After that connect the AC adaptor and insert the battery turn it on. If issue persist please inform for further troubleshooting.
Unplug the power cable... Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds... Plug cable back in and check for light... If this still didnt work, then unplug cable again, take battery out, wait 10 seconds.... Put battery back in, plug cable back in and this should allow you to boot...
