Laptops, by design, are bound to get their hard drives broken more than desktops since they are "on the move". A hard drive is usually made of moving internal parts so it is very sensitive and may malfunction after getting hit.
You can consider buying an SSD hard drive - it is more like a large disk on key formed as a hard drive. It has no moving parts so it is more durable to physical hits.
When transferring a hard drive from laptop to another, it is wrong to assume that Windows will automatically work, as both laptops are different windows will not laod up on the other laptop
You will need to reinstall a fresh copy of windows on the hard drive in order for it to work on the other laptop
Try a friends computer. If that dosent work, check the ac adapter, replace is nessary. if that dosent work put the hdd in a nother enclosure, still not working, the hdd istelf will be broken, tae the drive to a data recovery centre
your device could have many isues. could be the Disk, The USB Converter, The USB Cable. best would be to check the device on a nother computer. if it does not work swap another cable, if not then better look for that warranty card.
