How to fix my Ge washer THAT SPINS SLOWLY AND DOES NOT DRAIN CLOTHES COMPLETELY.The clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle.

Wild guess, It's Out of balance, as a result, it's smart enough to stop spinning. To check, try to rebalance. Maybe overloaded. Remove clothes but fill with water and see if it will spin out. Second guess, belt drive on the bottom of the machine is worn, or belt tensioner is off or bad bearing. Also, possible the motor has a problem and shuts down because it's overheating a bit. If this is the case, though unlikely you will need a service man, but not cheap. If it's an old machine you might consider a replacement.

I have a 2 year old GE WCVH6260HWW front loading washing machine. Last night I smelled burning and there was actuall smoke in the room. I just shut it down. To me it smelled like a rubber (belt) type...

Pull the back panel off and look at he drive belt. My pully nut loosened up and caused extreme vibration (more than usual). The pulley is aluminum and it rounded out the center hole of the pulley. The belt finally came off. I replaced the pulley and belt.

My top load ge machine does not spin. it fills with water and makes a humming sound like it is trying to spin. how can i get it to work

Sounds to me like the belt has either came off or has broken. You can remove the front lower panel to see if the belt is still intact. To remove, put a hand on each side of the panel toward the top. Pull toward you, the top of the panel will un-clip and pull out. Then just pick up on the panel and set aside. Now look for the belt. Pull on it and make sure it's tight. If not you will need to reinstall it of if broken, replace. Good luck.

Washer stops several times in the middle of cycle

possibly it could be your un-balance switch getting very sensitive to any type of movement of the machine, normally they only actuate during the spin cycle when you have a very off balanced load of clothes

Frigidare washing machine

The un-balanced sensors are tripping this problem. The front panel has to be removed first. You'll need to locate the sensors which are usually mounted on the shock.Remove the connector and re-crimp the wires so that you know there making a positve connection.Re try in spin ,if the problem remains ,replace off balance sensor/s
