The light bulb in our microwave burnt out. Replace it, right? Can't find where it is in the unit, and it isn't even mentioned in the manual! Seriously? I'm not buying a new microwave for lack of a light bulb. We got this at Costco, and except for the light, we really love this oven. Had it at least three years. I have no problem purchasing a replacement bulb, but heaven help me, I cannot figure out how to replace it, or even where it is.

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.
You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb.
In many over-the-range models, that can mean having to take the oven down from the wall! For safety's sake, that should be a two-person job and it's really helpful if you have your original installation instructions to do this.
Many models use one halogen lamp to illuminate the cooktop and another to illuminate the cavity. You must not touch them with your bare skin as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

SOURCE: Door slammed and no microwave is dead
yep you got it in one, I must have advised about 10 people today about this. when the door is slammed the door protection circuit does not operate correctly and then takes out the mains fuse inside the unit. renove the case and locate the fuse, normally where the cable enters the unit. as long as the fuse is the correct amperage, lenght and diameter you have no problems. do not test the unit with the cover off and be careful as the capacitors can hold a lethal charge

yes, it's easy.
unplug it.
open the case.
trace the power cord from the plug end. you should encounter an in-line fuse (like an old-style auto fuse)
just go to the hardware store and get the same type fuse. it will look like a small white cylinder, about the size of tic-tac (but a little longer) with metal ends.
