Water leak from bottom

Water leaks from bottom, checked inlet and outlet hose, looks good, uplugged the plug and poured bucket of water, water seems to be leaking onto floor.

  • grunt475 Jan 17, 2009

I'm also getting a leak underneath. If pump is defective, how much does it cost to replace? Also, how do I remove the front/side panel to look at the area?

  • rhaxma Jan 19, 2009

I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II, 8 Cycle-2 Speed motor washing machine. It is leaking water from underneath during the cycle. All visible hoses appear to be fine, no leakes detected. I'm no repairman, but I suspect it is the pump, I am going to open the back and take a look! Any suggestions?

Washer from flashing 1E & leaking

LG Washing Machine Displaying Fault Code IE or 1E WM2016CW WATER INLET ERROR // Water not entering washing machine correctly
The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve.

Hi I have a 96 toyota camry the car overheated . I tried putting 50/50 antifreeze in and it just poured right back out somewhere by firewall area . I had seen someone talk about a joint inlet ??? I tried...

Looks like the dark well of mysterious things behind my engine, too. A joint inlet would probably be for a heater hose line, probably the inlet line to the heater core, as the outlet from the heater core back to the engine would enter near the engine front near the water pump. Conventionally speaking, that is.

It's all conjecture until you get a good look at it. Judging from the picture, I would be underneath the engine looking up. That means blocks under the side frame or jack stands, don't trust any jack. A flashlight and a small mirror in hand, look for where coolant could pour out. Look for that hose inlet, and check the "freeze plugs"-one may have popped out- these are round castings in the engine block, open to the water jacket around the block where coolant circulates. Good luck, now that you are under the car and dirty, now I don't have to do it.

What does it mean when a washer leaks from the bottom?
The pump will have an outlet or drain hose, an inlet from the tub and may have a circulating hose outlet as well. If you have water leaking from the washer during a wash or drain cycle, check the area of the drain pump. Look for signs of a loose hose clamp or a leaking hose connected to the pump first. 1. Water is leaking out from the bottom of the machine. 2. Also, wanted to know if you are suppose to manual pipe in water for this model........................thank you.............ong

The first part is that you need to check at the following for leaks.

1. Check for leak from the inlet due to poor water connection. check leak at the inlet valve.
2. Check for leak from the tub.
3. Check for leak from the drain pump/valve or the drain hose.

The second part is not clear but a connection for water and an outlet for drain is needed.( make/model not seen.)

Hoover Dishwasher HD95M leaks on start up from bottom right front corner. Leaks when initially being fed from water feed.

Water leaking can be poor plumbing or fault in the inlet hose connection. You are the first observer and so your view on the leak area is important as the leak can be from the hose, from the inlet, the hose or the washer unit.
Based on this the water leak can be plugged, tighten the hose clips, check the inlet filter or check the washer's feed line.

Leaking from behind?

If the leak is coming from the back of the washer, the problem may be attributed to either a leaking water inlet valve, or the associated internal hoses that run from the valve to the dispenser. The following link explains how to access the inside of the washer and/or replace the valve (if required):

http://www.fixya.com/support/r600647-replacing_water_inlet_valve_kenmore

If the leak is coming from under the front of the washer, the problem may be the drain pump. These pumps can develop cracks and start leaking. they are non-serviceable and will require replacing is defective. The following link explains how: http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump Inspect all internal hoses and hose connections as well. There are two drain hoses on the water pump, and several small hoses near the water inlet valve. These hoses can develop leaks over time. If the leak appears to be coming from the bottom of the wash tub, you may have a leaking tub seal, or cracked wash tub (worst case scenario). You will see tell-tale signs of water marks on the gearcase (transmission) if this were the case. On the lower right hand side of the wash tub is an air dome with a small rubber air hoses attached. Make sure this hose is still attached and has no leaks. The air hose can slip off the nipple it is attached to and water will begin to pour out of the washer when it starts to fill. This will be an "attention-getting" leak as water will gush everywhere. Double check the air hose just in case. If parts are required, you can purchase from any of the following websites:

Water pouring out from soap tray !!!

hi Water leaks in a washer are often difficult to trace. There are many possibilities to look for. The problem could be a loose connection, a broken hose, a cracked component, or a defective seal. It could also be a hole in the tub. If a hole in the tub is the problem, it's usually best to replace the washer. Most leaks can be eliminated by tightening water connections and replacing deteriorated components. To stop a leak:

Step 1: Check the lid seal. If faulty, replace with a new gasket.

Step 2: Check the hoses at faucet connections. Tighten connections or replace hoses.

Step 3: Check the hoses at water valve connections. Tighten connections or replace hoses.

Step 4: Check the drain hoses. Tighten connections or replace hoses.

Step 5: Check the inlet nozzles. Tighten connections or replace nozzles.

Step 6: Check the splash guard. Tighten connections or replace.

Step 7: Check any plastic valve. Tighten connections or replace.

Step 8: Check the outlet hose to drain. Tighten connections or replace hose.
