Wireless connection slow

I just purchased a aspire one mini computer and tried to use it with my existing home wireless network belink wireless n router, which is working fine with all the other computers wirelesly and wired. The other wireless laptop is running windows vista, the apsire is running xp home. I connected the aspire hard wired to router and it works fine. I also had another wireless connection within range although poor strength I connected to it and it worked awesome. I cannot figure out what the problem is. It says it is connected at 54 mbps that the wireless strength is excellent. I have tried being right on top of the router and downstairs results are the same, it will start loading and then hang sometimes it finishes loading after long period or it goes to internet explorer cannot load the page. I did the diagnostic and it says the connection is working fine.

Same problem. RESOLVED it by going to device manager (hold the Windows Logo key near the space bar and hit PAUSE) Click hardware tab, and then device manager. click the plus next to network adapters to expand it, then right click the atheros wireless connection and go to properties. Click advanced, then find the power save mode. click it, then chose turn off on the right.

did this and my wireless is working normal again. hope this helps.

How can I get my acer aspire one mini laptop to access wifi?

Connecting your Acer laptop to your home wireless network is fairly simple. Before you begin you need to know the SSID broadcast name (Wi-Fi) network name and security passphrase (Wi-Fi network password).

Move the Wi-Fi switch to the "On" position. Not all models have this switch. Open the Windows Start menu and select "Connect To." A list of available connections will appear. Select "All" from the drop-down menu to view all available networks and connections within range. Select the desired network and click "Connect." Enter the security passphrase if prompted and click "Connect" again to join the network and gain wireless Internet access.

Cannot connect smartphone to my computer via wi-fy

The smart phone should work fine on any wireless router. Try going to wireless settings on the phone and if it has your network remember click and hold on your network and select forget network. This should clear out any thing cached about your network. Once that is done try re-connecting to your network and enter any password you may have.

I cannot get my new dell mini inspiron to connect to the linksys wireless router in the home network. it cannot even detect the network. How do I fix this?

Have you been able to connect your netbook to other wireless networks? Do you have anything else connected to your home wireless network? Can you see your home wireless network using a different computer?

If you can't see other wireless networks check to make sure your wireless card didn't get shut off. Usually there's an on/off switch on a laptop to do this, or a combination of function keys.

If you can see other wireless networks and just not your own, try the wireless network's settings on the router. If you do have some type of security, I'd start off troubleshooting with no security, then move up to WEP, then WPA, then WPA2 in that order, or at least as high as you can get with the options available on your router. It might be that your wireless network is too secure for what your Mini 10 can handle.

can u see the wireless icon in the taskbar near the time?if not, try 2 right click my computer, then manage, device manager, and see under network adapter the wireless adapter, maybe it doesn't exist or is not recognized, or maybe it has a yellow mark with a question mark in it, if its the case, then you'll need to find and install the driver, all these assuming that your new aspire is wireless capable

I have two computers receiving wireless internet via my Linksys WRT54G router. I recently purchased an Acer Aspire one (mini computer) Can hook up to wireless at my daughters and at other places, but...

Hi,

For you to resolve this problem, you'll need to reset the router. Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds, and when you are prompted for the user name and password just input "admin" in both fields.

Try connecting your computer to the router after this process.

Good Luck.

Try and reload the drivers for the device. Also check the control panel and under network connections. See if there is a wireless network adapter. You can also try and run add hardware and see if the system detects it. Once you have it detected, go into setup wireless network and install you network. Have any problems please post in forum.
