If answering live call and is busy signal on the other end then could be a recording from far end....call a tech in.
If voice mail message is busy signal it could be same as above or Disconnect Supervsision is not programmed on the lines and with the carrier.....this detects when caller hangs up then system knows to hang up, if does not hangup then you get busy signal.
Thanks. Comcast did have a couple setting incorrect. But I am still having the same problem. I am sure it is simple programming error. When you call any of my numbers and get the auto-attendent then hang up. The call stays in the pbx and goes to a particular default extension and when the person at that extentsion picks up it is just a busy signal. If someone calls in but does not enter an extension they will also go through to this same extention. I need to program my pbx to disconnect "hang ups" or to disconnect if no buttons are pushed during the auto attendent message. Can you help? I have my books but cannot find a resolution.
You need to call in a vendor that handles your system to program, sorry no training on forums. You will need to know the password, how to navigate and where to go etc. All I can say is it is under line programming. You can do some testing to by having the caller hang up on a human and see how long it takes to disconnect. There is also special timers the tech can play with too.

SOURCE: Line not in service
Is says that because it's not in service :-)
To check the extenson number of the phone you're calling, go to that phone and press FEATURE *0 and the intercom button. Read the display. It should show you the extension number of the phone.
If it has names only, you're probably going to have to start with 21 22 or 101 102 etc and see what rings.

The reason your phones config is not the same as before is because configuration goes by what extension it is. So if you plug your phone in somewhere else, unless you have DN's configured, your extension changes, so say it was extension 21, but now that you moved it, its now 23, those settings remain on extention 21, so if you bought another phone and plugged it into were extention 21 is, it would have the settings that your old phone had before
To access the intercom by just picking up the handset, Press Feature **CONFIG (266344), Select <A. Configuration>, then go to <2. Line Access>, Select that and enter the extension of the phone you want to have access intercom by just picking up the handset. Scroll until you see <Intercom Keys: #,> make sure you have at least one intercom key. Then scroll until you see <Prime Line: #>, Press change until the display reads <Prime Line:I/C> And there you go. Hope i didn't confuse you

Sounds like the call forward no answer isn;t set up on your extension. The first thing to do is to find out what the voice mail pilot number is. That's done by pressing feature 982. The display should say "set:xxx". The set number provided is the voicemail pilot number.
Next you'll need to enter system programming.

Enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS. The 4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming
At the terminals&sets prompt, press the show key (top right arrow). The display should now ask for an extension number.
Enter extension number you want to change call forward no answer on.
