Nortel 7208, locked out of mailbox. Forgot password. tried 120000; says "locked out" can't get in. It is work phone need to get messages. Please help.
To reset the password on the mail box you need to go to a M7310 phone on your system. It has 3 buttons under the display. You need to press the "Feature" button and 983, then enter the password 120000 (this one is used if you have 2 digit extensions 1020000 is used if you have 3 digit extensions) . Next in the display you will see mbox-AA-othr above the soft keys. Press the button below mbox. Next enter your extension number. After that you should see the screen to reset your password. This will reset the password to 0000. When you go back to your own extension and log in to your mailbox it will prompt you to change your password. If you password120000 or 1020000 doesn't work try 121111 or 1021111, the last 4 digits are the password for the admin mailbox.
Norstsar M7208 Corded phone cannot use handsfree feature
Your problem is in the phone system programming. I would need to know how old your main cabinet is in order to tell you how to fix it. On most Nortel systems you use "Feature Key" **266344 (Feature **CONFIG) . You will need to program from a M7310 phone because you need the 3 soft keys under the display which the M7208 does not have. The top 4 keys on the phone are used for programming (2 LEFT & 2 RIGHT) . I'm referring to the 2 vertical rows of keys (5 LEFT & 5 RIGHT). Upper left key is up a menu, upper right key is SELECT, lower left is BACK, and the lower right is NEXT. I believe you need to find the CAPABILITIES menu for your station/extension and use the next button to look for the handsfree setting use the key under the display to change it. Displaying "message" but not message in voicemail
THis is usually because it thinks that there is something there, but the code path to 'clear it" doesn't follow the same logic path. Sometimes, adding a new message - i.e. dial your number from elsewhere, to create a real message waiting, and then clearing that, resets this.
How can I program the calls to go to the new location but same extension # on Nortel Networks T7316 phone?
To program the calls to go to the new location with the same extension number on a Nortel Networks T7316 phone, you will need to update the call routing information in the phone system's programming.
Here are the steps you can follow:
- Access the programming mode on the phone system. This typically involves entering a password or code on the phone's keypad.
- Locate the call routing configuration for the extension in question. This may be in a menu for "extensions" or "call routing," depending on the specific phone system.
- Edit the call routing information to reflect the new location of the extension. This may involve specifying a new phone number, a new group or queue, or a new set of forwarding rules.
- Save the changes and exit the programming mode.
Once you have completed these steps, incoming calls should be routed to the new location of the extension, even though the extension number remains the same. Note that it may take some time for the changes to propagate through the phone system, so it is possible that calls may still go to the old location for a brief period of time after the changes are made.
I have a Nortel Jazz 420 and it suddenly turned on pulse mode instead tone mode. How could I turn it on tone mode ? Pierre
Try this
Tone dialing allows your telephone to communicate with devices and services that respond to tone signals, such as answering machines, fax, or automatic switchboards. Want to learn how to switch from pulse to tone dialing on the Nortel phone? Follow these simple steps.
While on an active line, or after selecting the line, press # and the phone will switch from pulse to tone dialing. After you hang up the phone, your phone will return to pulse dialing. You may repeat these steps as needed.
