it sounds like one of your tv buttons is getting stuck. And if it's the power button, then your tv would turn off. So, you would need to pull out the button after it's been used. Thank you.
Dear Mate
Please share us the Model # and Is that is the Plasma LCD or LED. And tell us Is your`s TV is stay on stand by or its green LED is stable. With No video and sound.
The problem is a faulty inverter kit (2 boards).
I live in the Netherlands and had it twice, tv is 2 and a half years old! In the Netherlands Philips replaces the inverterkit without any
costs for the consumer (even after warranty time) cause they have
admitted that it is a production fault.Philips made a new inverterkit
which should solve the problem indefenit.Be sure the kit is Version
1.3! I had 1.2 after the first problem, and that went wrong after 7 months again. Today got revision1.3 installed which is Philips final solution.
John, my thoughts is something in the main power supply. I don't know what an opto chip is but I've heard of Optocupler IC's. May be a good idea to give a call to some local TV Repair Shops especially ones that work on Philip's and see if you can speak with a tech to see what their thoughts are on what the problem is and what a repair cost may be. The issue is one of hauling it to the TV shop or having them come out to you. Blessings, A/V Media Guy
A 4 flash shutdown indicates some type of power supply problem. It will be necessary for a tech to take a look at the TV to determine where the fault in the power supply lies.
