Camera says "Push The Reset Button" Won't turn on

My panasonic is acting up on me. First of all, a few weeks ago, it started ruining all of the tapes I put into it. And It would record for like ten seconds, then stop and i'd have to turn it off, turn it back on and try again, then i finally realized that it was doing that because it was caught on the same 10 seconds worth of tape, it just kept looping. Now it won't even turn on, except to say "Push reset button" then once i try to turn it off, the red power light won't go off.. any help?

dont have drivers for my cam coders

  • stepstar Dec 07, 2007

My Panasonic NV-GS 8 hasn't ruined any tapes, but it does constantly say 'push the reset switch'. This was only intermittent at first, but became more and more frequent, up to the point where the camera now doesn't allow to record or play at all now.
If anyone has an idea what to do to correct the fault, this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I was wondering if anyone lese had that problem with the puch reset button. I see they have. I also thought it had to be something mechanical as the tape tried to be ejected and stopped midway. The question is, is it worth it trying to get it fixed and if so has anyone had it fixed and for how much and whre to send it, responses appreciated, thanks.

You need to know in which position was camera turned of.
So try turning it on in RECORD OR PLAY position.
It will work then...

EX-S880 Shutdown

First off make sure that the battery when charging is a solid red light and NOT flashing. If it's flashing that means we have a problem with the battery.

Make sure you are only using a Toshiba, Panasonic or Sandisc memory card that is no larger than 1 GB unless you did a firmware upgrade to handle a larger card.

Take your memory card out. Turn the camera on and press menu, go over to setup, go down to format (this will format anything on the internal memory of camera) and press right arrow to highlight format and then press ok button. It will say busy please wait and then once that's done please press menu again, go to setup, go down to reset, press right arrow, highlight reset and press ok.

If the camera is still acting up after doing this please contact Casio repairs and they can fix it for an electrical issue.

Push the reset button

let the camera sit alone for About 20 min,so that the camcorder automatically turned off. I turned it off, then back on and did not receive the reset button prompt.
if that doesn't work unplug the battery and all power and plug back in.

Displaying "push reset button"

A: try a new video tape

B:
try giving your camcorder a few light taps (or not so light, just don't break it) and then turn it off and then on again

this sometimes helps in my experience but it is not a permanent fix and I suggest buying a new camera as soon as possible

C: Somone said that leaving the camera plugged into AC for 20 minutes or so will fix it, I have tried this myself and it MIGHT have worked (I have used it a few times without any problems but that has happened before

Reset

Here is what I was able to find about your issue with your camera. [PUSH THE RESET SWITCH] is displayed. ? An irregularity in the Camcorder has been automatically detected. Remove the cassette or the card for data protection and then press the [RESET] Button with the protection on the Lens Cap. The Camcorder will be activated. ? An irregularity in the Camcorder has been automatically detected. Remove the cassette or the card for data protection and then press the [RESET] Button. The Camcorder will be activated. ? If you do not press the [RESET] Button, the power to the Camcorder is turned off automatically about 1 minute later. ? Even after you press the [RESET] button, the indication may still appear repeatedly. If so, the Camcorder needs repair. Detach the power connected, and consult the dealer who you purchased the Camcorder from. Do not attempt to repair the appliance by yourself. Here is the location of the reset button: 1 Open the LCD Monitor 2 Undo Grip Belt end and pull Lens Cap Cord downward to loosen Grip Belt. 3 Use projection on the Lens Cap to press the [RESET] Button . If this doesn't work here is the link to the site that I found this information on. http://www.indiana.edu/~libugls/equipment/pdfs/PanasonicPVGS29.pdf It is located on page 78 of the pdf file. Good Luck!!!
