I had the same problem with my Polaroid FLM-3232 after having it for about 5 years the sound was just gone one day. I ended up purchasing a vizio sound bar and I have been pleased with the results. The sound bar is much better quality than the TV's audio ever had by itself.

HOW DO I GET SOUND WITHOUT USING REALTEK ON A INSPIRON530?'

Realtek is the name of the sound card in the laptop. You need to have realtek audio drivers installed to get sound. Sort of difficult to change out a sound card on a laptop- in fact mostly impossible.
get the Realtek driver and live with it.

Toshiba 57H83 and no longer get any sound. Any

Most often No Sound with Toshiba 57H83 is:

1. TV has a Sound on-off switch on the input panel at the rear of the TV. Very hard to see, black on black. Used to turn off speakers if you use a separate or external sound system for speakers. Usually gets moved while connecting hd cables or dusting and vacuuming in cramped space at the rear of the TV.

2. Someone accidentally changed Sound settings with remote to CC (closed caption) or SAP. Turn off in sound menu and save preference.

3. Sound input plugs from external cable or sat box unhooked or wrong input.

Toshiba 57H83 no sound fault is not common. If you still have no sound, get local service.

Or troubleshoot yourself to determine if Tuner, IF, processing, sound demod, switching or sound output circuit is smoked. Then make an installation plan.

No sound

obtain latest sound driver for your sound card or machine, go into device manager remove sound device driver, reboot, when it says found new device ,sellect have disk ,then sellect where you have saved the new driver, then follow the onscreen directions
this should get your sound working ,if it is a hardware problem install a new sound card,(if the sound is onboard ie (part of the motherboard), be sure to disable it before you try to install the new sound card)
good luck

Altec lansing acs54 installation

Hello there!! jlee432
The 4.1 speakers you has, and output sound , depend on the sound card you has on your laptop. If you has inside the laptop a sound card 5.1 you whould not have problems get it sound, BUT you have to set on multimedia and sound for 4.1 according.
you only have one output sound on your laptop, so you have to use 2 speakers or buy a splitter and get 2 speakers sound.
you also, can buy a pcmcia sound card, 5.1 from creative labs, to solve this. but check if your speakers of course sound of.
good luck
