HP COMPAQ D530 RED BLINKING LIGHT WITH BEEPING SOUNDS.

Continuos interval 4 beeping sounds with blinking red light, then shuts down.

    When i try to press the power button on my compaq computer it just blinks red and doesnt stop. at first i assumed it was the power supply and checked the plug, etc. but nothing was wrong. when i unplug it, it keeps blinking. this computer has worked fine tin the past and i haven't installed and new hardware or software.

    4 Beeps: System timer failure

4 beeps & 4 flashes mean problem with the power supply. For my experience, most of the time the PSU is good, it is just overloaded.

Hp compaq dc 7100 , my problem is that as i start my pc than 4 beep with time interval 0.2 sec with led than after 0.5 sec it start again , remain continously
Are they Long Beeps? Does the RED led light on the front show up?
If there is no RED led light blinking, then the problem is your RAM.
If there IS a RED led Light showing up, then the problem is your Power Supply.

Short beep and red light
Did your Bios Battery Die?

5 short beeps = BIOS recovery successful

Usually means bios has lost settings some how. You have have more significant issues if there was a power surge.

Pc hp dc 5000 sff does not power on, a red light keeps blinking, no beeping, no noise. Replace with a new power supply. Does the same thing
sounds like you have your answer, your computer is hosed. unless you want to keep swapping parts to try to see if it's memory or cpu, I'd just get a new motherboard/cpu/ram combo (they've come a long way since you got that computer, I'll bet)

There are two lights right under the turn-on bottom and one has a picture of a battery and the other is a picture of a light bulb and this light bulb is blinking red five times in about 3second intervals.
the blinking bulb is the speed or the utility of the ram memory ....if it is blinking then it means that ur pc is utilising memory of ram....if it blinks faster then its using more memory....

if it is a long beep then check ur ram, try cleaning ram. if not solved then there may be problem with ur ram try changing ur ram.

it all depends on the number of flashes , pause, repeat.
Since the problem did not indicate any beeps her is the following info


Power LED blinks RED 2 times, one every second, followed by a
2-second pause. = Processor Thermal Protection Activated


3 blinks 1 second apart = Processor not installed (not an indicator for a bad processor).

4 blinks 1 second apart .= Power Failure (power supply is overloaded)

Other possibilities are:
5 blinks 1 second apart No memory
6 blinks 1 second apart No graphics
7 blinks 1 second apart System board failure (detected prior to video)
8 blinks 1 second apart Invalid ROM
