Wireless speakers AW872 transmitter won't power on anymore

We purchased 2 wireless speakers less than year ago. Everything was working fine and now the speakers power on but no sound. The red light on the transmitter no longer comes on. We've checked all of the cords and everything is connected.

    Thanks! That did it.

I've purchased a set of Sharper Image wireless indoor-outdoor speakers with a transmitter last year. I love the speakers and everything was working fine until the transmitter went out the other day. First the red (power light) was blinking so I went to check if the transmitter is plugged in correctly, I checked the cord to make sure it wasn't loose and that's when the transmitter lost power connection for good. Is there a way to take it apart and fix it or is there a genetic transmitter that I can buy for the existing speakers?

Acoustic Research Model AW871 wireless sterio speakers

Your connection between the AR transmitter and the ONKYO receiver sounds solid. I'd guess it's the wireless speakers that are the wrong point, or at least that's what I'd look at first. Doing a bit of research, I noticed a couple minor points. First, these seem prone to RF interference from other RF devices. Have to tried switching channels on them? Second, someone reported theirs would not work properly unless the speakers were turned on just before the transmitter, and turned off shortly after the transmitter. Apparently you have to hold the button on the front in for 5 seconds to turn the speakers on or off. I know that's rather basic, but it's been a few days and no one else has responded, so I figured we should start somewhere.

Transmitter on wireless speakers will not hold a signal

if most repair shops cannot fix it, and it has been discontinued, then it would probably be a good idea to buy another set of wireless speakers. you might wanna try looking at reviews for different ones on the internet. CNET, youtube, and other places are good places to look for some

I have wireless speakers and the transmitter stopped working. Nothing happens when you plug it in--??? It's only a month old. AW872

Hi I also post in here , so that you can let me know how it goes.

Try unplugging the transmitter from power adapter, if it also has batteries remove them. Also unplug transmitter audio cable.

Then remove batteries/unplug adapters from speakers.

Wait few minutes and reconnect the system.

This is a proper hard reset, and can fix minor problems.

If when you re connect the transmitter does not glow, or you do not have sound on one or both channels then there is a fault.

Check the transmitter audio cable, a short in there can cause troubles.

If you find no problems , then unit is defective, as it is under warranty contact Acoustic Research to validate the warranty here and get the transmitter or the whole set replaced.

Cannot connect anymore

Does the router work with the wired port connection? It's entirely possible that the router just went belly-up on you ...Linksys is an awesome brand, but sometimes it happens.

If the wired part works, the wireless transmitter inside may have gone bad. Best to just get a new one for about $50 ...but keep the old one in case you need a wired connection somewhere else around the house :)

Sharper Image Wireless transmitter deal

Do not restart them with the button, that won't reset settings, unplug everything from power for 5 minutes and plug them back.
