Sub quit working, where do I find new board/amp/crossover panel
I have the same problem with mine and since Acoustic Research went out of business, I too have been looking for a solution. I may have found an alternative to throwing away this really nice speaker. I found a company on the web that appears to sell an amp that may fit nicely into this speaker enclosure for $99.00. Check it out...http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?DID=7&PartNumber=300-805UPDATE Feb-16-2016: This Amp is still going strong since 2012 when I replaced it. The price has gone up to 139.00, but may still be worth it to replace a bad one given the cost of Sub's today.

Wireless speaker won't come on after plugging in now....
Try the adaptor that you know works in the speaker that doesn't. That will eliminate if its the adaptor or the speaker. You will need a multimeter to check if its the on /off switch or not. A quick alternative is to "bridge" out the on / off switch wiring. (Use a piece of wire to join the wires going through the switch together.)

"cracking" noise
Your subwoofer is not capable of playing as loud as you want it to. That sound is the woofer reaching its limit. If you have any bass tone setting on your receiver set them to flat. If there are any other bass settings i.e contour, loudness boost etc turn them off.
You can also try putting the woofer into a corner. This will increase the output. Closer to you would also be louder. Otherwise you need a sub with more output. Don't let the power rating fool you when you get a new one.

Well I also have a S112PS AR Sub Woofer Problem...
Are you sure it is receiving an audio signal to make it wake up? You don't mention what's upstream in the audio chain.
To eliminate mis-settings or lack of sub-related signal upstream, plug an RCA cable from a CD player directly into it and start a CD that fades in slowly because you won't have any way to lower the volume except to pause the CD. If the sub works you'll hear a muffled version of the program.

I have a pair of acoustic research "active
DC 12v adapters are common and I think that would work. The similar "Powered Partner" speakers used a 14v DC adapter. Just check the size of the plug and the configuration (center pin is +). Radio Shack and other sellers have universal adapters.

No sound from one tweeter
Could be an open capacitor in the cross-over, unconnected wire to the tweeter (not likely) or a blown (open) voicecoil in the tweeter. Remove the tweeter and with a 9 volt battery (even run down but not dead will work) quickly touch it to the connections to the tweeter - it should pop and crackle. No static, the tweeter has sung it's last song.
