One of the typical problems people run into with MP3 players is that they lose the software that came with the player and can't figure out how to get music on or off the player. So here's a quick how to. This will work with most brands of MP3 players, or even USB flash drives.
First you need to plug it in to the USB port, if you are running anything newer than windows 98 you won't need a driver. Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one).
Hope this helps.
yes...unplug from pc shut mp3 off for a minute...plug it to pc (did it come on turn it on)...please get into the habit of disconnecting any usb connection with the safety disconnect...(green icon in task bar when usb is connected)...since you already deleted all files (format it now) start fresh...now you are able to put your songs on it...but to disconnect do not....do not just unplug the usb
Hi There,
First you have to charge it up fully by plugging it into the computer with the usb cable it came with. if yo have windows 2000 or higher you don't need to install the software it came with. It takes 4 hours to fully charge. Shut your MP3 missil player off and the plug it back into the computer with the cable it came with. Microsoft window plug and play should automatically indentify the devive as a storage device. All you do from there is drop and drag your mp3 songs iinto the storage folder in your device. Enjoy your new device
What you probably need is a firmware update. Many people seem to have this problem and it is fixed when you update the firmware from 1.03 (the one that comes with it) to 1.05
Here's the link to the firmware update: http://www.samsung.com/tw/support/productsupport/download/FileView.aspx?cttfileid=1536296&type=&typecode=200600&subtype=&subtypecode=200601&cmssubtypecode=&model=YP-K5QB&filetype=FM&language=
I have never used a sandisk but I doubt you could do anything to recover the music. Try reformat/reset it then reinstal all the software and drivers that came with or help with your mp3 player
