Light-up volume bars on the hp pc notebook dv7 1132nr

Hello,

Is the hp pc dv7 1132nr 's light-up touch volume bars suppose to change colors as you increase the volume so that you might know when the volume is at it's maximum or minimum, because mine's is just illuminated but doesn't change colors like the other touch buttons on the touch control panel at the top of the keyboard. I have no way of knowing if the volume is at it's maximum except to just keep hitting the volume touch buttton until it sounds like it's not getting any louder.

-Thanks

Hi Folks....
If you are talking about the Quick Launch buttons of the Notebooks from where we usually increase, decrease or mute the Volume, the lights will be still and will not increase or decrease with the increase or decrease in Volume.
However, you do have a utility which should be preinstalled in Notebooks called HP Quick Touch which shows the bars on the Display when the volume is Increased or Decreased  using the Quick Launch buttons. This application is not compatible with Windows Vista 64 bit edition.
The HP Quick Touch application is available for download from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38358.exe

Save the file in the Notebook and double click it once the download is completed to install the application.
Hope this helps....

What is wrong with my HP 6910p, battery discharging, volume lighting up..

sounds like liquid damage .. you can google your model number and find videos on taking it apart with some patience and a good Phillips you should not have any problems once apart check the Mother Board for any signs of corrosion ( usually crusty green ..brownish in color and clean with 90 % or above Isopropyl Alcohol .. Good luck

ProBook 6450b mute button on keyboard is always orange

Is the volume muted or not when the light is orange? If it is muted then use the icon on task bar and increase the volume, to see if color changes. If it is not muted and a change of volume does not affect the color of the light, maybe that is the normal color for it. Did you read the manual and find that orange means trouble. On my computer, the light for my WifI is always orange.
The speakers may be muted by an Fn +Fx key sequence, or some additional buttons on the computer.

I have an HP Pavilion dv 7 notebook pc. not sure why... in the middle of my screen a bar shows up with the word "volume" and a sound bar indicating that volume is twitching between 35% and 50%...

The volume slider on your laptop is failing or having problems, I have had this issue my self it is usually caused by dirt and grime, so you may want to give it a good cleaning or residual heat from the processor. I'm posting the link to an hp support thread below, with several other fixes not mentioned here. I hope I could Help.

I have ProBook 6555b for just a few days and my mute button is stuck in orange. No matter if sound is mute or not, button doesn't change to light blue..

I'm not totally sure with the specific model you mention, but I DO know that many of the HP 6xxx series laptops, the light board above the keyboard are touch sensitive, have you tried actually using your finger to touch the amber light itself and see if it changes to blue? (or the volume bar?)

Try tapping a few times with your finger and see if that helps.

Good Luck

Hey, i just bought an HP with the illumintaed volume adjustment bars at the top of the keyboard. Whenever i change the volume using it it has a continual ticking.. is there any way to disable this ticking?...

is it an entertainment pc? if it is there is a flaw with the soft crappy cover they put instead of actual buttons. you have to take it off like you were going to replace the kb and follow the wire and make sure its plugged in good and not touching any metal or any other wires and put the cover back and make sure its snapped in all the way. had this on two so far.
