I just replaced the thermal fuse on a Whirlpool Duet electric dryer. I plugged the dryer back in and it started fine. I opened door (and, of course, the dryer stopped), shut the door, hit start and I got a flashing PF error code. I can't cancel it. I've tried unplugging and replugging, pressing suggested buttons or combos thereof. NOTHING WORKS! I can open and close the dryer door. It is not locked. Please help. All suggestions are appreciated!

First check for 220 volts incoming power to the dryer at the terminal block on the rear of the dryer.
If you have 220 volts, check continuity on part number 59(thermal fuse) in the attached diagram. No continuity is a bad part.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

There is no pattern to the PF flashing code. Blinks off and on. If you turn dial to different dryer setting, for example, it beeps. Other than that... nothing.
I don't know what additional info I can mention. If anyone has any questions, please ask
