That level 3 mode is only for Canon engineers. What counter are you looking to reset? The counters for most maintenance items are reset in service mode level 1. The total counter for the machine cannot be reset without replacing the main controller pcb & the counter pcb.

Canon MP130 - warning keeps coming up that the 'waste ink absorber is nearly full. What do I need to do to correct this, thanks for your help.

Hi Teasel850,

There is an internal counter that prompts this message. There is software to reset the counter called MPTool. But why complicate things when it can be reset manually using the following steps.

Reset Canon Pixma MP130 Printer
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Press the MENU key, and then SCAN, COPY and SCAN again - entered the service mode.
  3. Select NVRAM ACCESS further OK.
  4. Select SET ABS-M LEVEL and set value equal to zero.
  5. Select SET ABS-R LEVEL (if any) and is set to zero.
  6. Turn off the printer POWER button.
Best regards

Waste ink is full how to clear this message

a) How to enter Service mode
Follow the procedure below to enter Service mode.
1) Turn off the printer.
2) Turn on the printer while holding down the [Paper Source] button and [Online]
button.
3) Check that "Canon W8200" is shown on the display, and then release the buttons.
4) Next, "SERVICE MODE" is shown on the display. (If sheets are inserted, this will
be displayed after the sheets are loaded.)
5) Use the [Lower arrow] button to make a selection.
Service mode is added to the options in the Main menu.
Service mode can be entered even during error status (when Exxxx and Wxxxx are
shown on the display) by turning the power off and then using the above key
operation.
b) How to exit Service mode
To exit Service mode, turn off the printer.
c) Buttons used in Service mode
• Selecting menus and parameters: [Left arrow] button or [right arrow] button
• Entering a lower-level menu: [Lower arrow] button
• Entering a higher-level menu: [Upper arrow] button
• Setting menus and parameters: [Enter] button

Now under service mode select counter, and select printer and W-INK to reset it, and under initialize select W-INK.
But also change the waste ink absorber so that you do not get waterfalls of ink from your plotter :-)

Hope that helps

The waste ink absorber is almost full How do I fix it Please?

It needs to go to a shop to have the absorber changed and the counter reset. Only a Canon shop has access to parts and service mode to reset the ink counter.

My Canon Pixma MP130 keeps saying the ink waste absorber is almost full.

It's a shop repair since you have to take apart fully, and also use diagnostic mode to reset the error.

I have Canon ir5075 and it asks me to change waste bottle. I empty the bottle. But do not know how to tell the printer that it is empty.

I am not familiar with this model but usually Canon waste bottle has:

1. Check if the waste toner botlle has some clear portion near the neck, (as in IRC3200) or other part of the bottle ,even the waste toner was removed but if this portion is still clouded by toner the sensor will still detect the waste is full

2. If the situation is not like this some Canon Ir machine needs to reset waste toner counter in the service program mode even the waste toner bottle was emptied
