Roaring Sound During Operation of Dryer

My 2003 Whirlpool Senson Dryer is making a loud roaring sound when it is operating. It still dries the clothes and otherwise operates normally. It just makes this roaring noise while it's on. Is this a maintenance problem? Could this lead to more problems?

Does the roaring sound occur after the machine warms up? If so, it could be a bad drum bearing. the heat from the dryer causes it to expand in its housing and, since it may been defective, could start "roaring". If so, The dryer drum shaft/bearing assembly will need to be replaced

If however, the roaring is immediate upon start up then u may have a bearing in your dryer motor. The entire motor may have to be replaced.

My Whirlpool microwave over-the-range oven makes a loud roaring sound when it turns on and won't heat.

Sounds like it could be a bad magnetron. The roaring could be a shorted mag or possibly a mag arcing in the wave guide If it is arcing in the wave guide, better to replace the unit.

Washing machine making loud roaring sound during spin cycle

Very likely the main bearing and drum shaft-inner tub will need replace. Not worth repairing, easily can cost more than the washer. Buy a new whirlpool front load duet, super capacity or the top load whirlpool with and agitator. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Hi, my GE model DBXR463ED1WW dryer is LOUD!

Roaring could be an over firing burner or fan related. Squeak or rumbles are bearings. Is the noise all the time or only when the burner is on? Eric

My washer will wash clothes and it drained, but will not spin makes a loud roaring noise what is wrong?

OK, that roaring is coming from a damaged direct drive assembly. the gear box is damaged. you will need to replace asap.

Gear case housing kit with main drive gear will run you about a $190.00
